Man, it looks great in 1080p60fps. Love the look of the environments too and how it isn't completely linear. Show me more Youkai!

Definitely looks more like Onimusha but then Onimusha was recently trademarked...

Nioh, a dark, samurai-centric action RPG, will be coming to the west exclusively for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system. Nioh has been in development under the direction of Kou Shibusawa, Hisashi Koinuma, and Team Ninja.

In Nioh, players will traverse war-torn Japan as William, a blonde-haired swordsman whose background as a fierce warrior and seasoned knowledge of the blade allows him to survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai. Known as Yokai, these demons inhabit a number of dangerous locations and lie in wait in the shadows to ambush unsuspecting victims. Players will also face off with other samurai in supernatural sword battles and intense, multi-target engagements offering a level of difficulty that will truly test even the most hardened samurai’s skills, patience, and strategy.

Offering a deep and original storyline that takes place during the Warring States Period of Japanese history alongside strategic sword-fighting action, Nioh will challenge players in a way that makes every mission and accomplishment feel earned and worthwhile. More information on this comprehensive, action-packed RPG experience will be released in the coming months.

If it's a human, make him possessed or something.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how the other locations look in the game. We've only seen 1 or 2 really.

Looking amazing! Really can see elements of Souls, Onimusha and Ninja Gaiden.

Seems so good.... I want it badly....
But this game is open world? By zones like Dark souls? Or missions in diferent places? This is the only doubt i have in order to buy it when its release....
Anyone knows ? I read little about it...
For me either open world(the witcher) or zones (dark souls) is fine... Missions would be a pain....

This demo is absolutely crushing me.

It's almost as if it's designed to destroy veterans of Dark Souls.

Do NOT, go in with the mentality of just another Souls game, the stamina gauge alone is a whole other beast of complexity.

^This, is an active reload for your stamina.

A couple of things I've noticed about the stamina.

1) Active Reload only works when comboing a single type of attack, meaning square all the way or Triangle all the way. If you switch attack in mid combo, it breaks.

2) Rolling doesn't give you that "active reload" bar.

3) If you roll in mid combo, you lose the "active reload".

4) If you deplete your entire gauge, you'll have to wait till it recovers at least 50% before you can do anything.

5) The timing for the "active reload" seems to be about half a second after your last attack.

6) Dodging in the Low Stance would also trigger the active reload of the stamina

7) Switching stance would also trigger the active reload of the stamina

so basically this is a more-complex yet faster Dark Souls/not-so-Bloodborne that is set in The Sengoku era of Japan?

Eh....I'm still getting my @ss kicked in Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3

Not really, if you try to play it like Souls you will get your ass kicked. It's FAR more difficult than Souls.

The basic mechanics are there but learning the advance mechanics is even more vital.

Really it's Ninja Gaiden in a Souls disguise.

At least they didn't make it like 2D fighting game hard....right?

I've completed the first boss last night so what I would say is... It's like playing Dark Souls for the first time? But once it clicks it's just as fun but in different ways. Souls is way easier to pick up for sure as it doesn't have any complex moveset and you can still technically play the game without learning any of the more complex mechanics, but you'll definitely have a harder time.

Some strategies would still work, some wouldn't.

Problem is I completed it on an Asian account, but I downloaded the UK demo, which means I don't get the DLC I would have to play through the whole first zone again.
