It goes down like that, I am sure that 1. Most people who sold her those things got charmed by her innocence and 2.She got a prepaid credit card with a bogus age ID or no ID of age from that card.

The obvious result, I believe. I did mention it before.
That there were some companies that were, for some reason, not listed on the credits as cooperators, and possibly, that is they told the staff not to list their names because there could be trouble if they seemingly endorse selling adult games to minors. In the first place, no one is scolding Kirino in the anime about the age problem, which is already...

If Kirino was guiltless about it all, then there would truly be a problem. Kyousuke isn't saying it's right either. If anything, the guy is utterly freaked out by it all and does thing it's wrong. But he did say he wouldn't judge Kirino or treat her like she was a freak. Kyousuke is probably in a conflict of 'This stuff is wrong, but my sister who has ignored me for years on end suddenly needs my support and is scared.'

What I consider telling in this all is at the mention of anything sexual happening, Kirino is utterly mortified and rejects the notion. That can be read two ways.

1. She is denying it.
2. It's merely because it provides a closeness of brother and sister that she craves rather than something shifty.

If (1) is the truth, then I won't be watching. But if (2) is the case, then I will be watching all the way.

Kyousuke is condeming Kirino have that material in a way by the 'option' he chose while playing.

Something that is gnawing at me somewhat is what happened to cause these two to be so cold to each other for so long? It's like something happened that the family doesn't want to acknowledge, or that Kyousuke somehow forgot but Kirino didn't. Feels like a plot point that would get revealed late in the story.

Yeah I think something had to have happened in the past for their current relationship to be so bad, looking forward to seeing what was the cause though whether it's revealed this season is another thing....

did not expect much but eps 1 turns out to be funny and enjoying

i also think the chance for a cute and popular girl to be an otaku is very slim

watched the first episode a few days ago but I keep forgetting to post my thoughts about it...

anyway, the first episode was within my expectations. loved the character designs, loved the overall visual aspect. I think they did a god job depicting the tension and dynamics between Kirino and Kyousuke. probably liked the anime version better than the manga/novel counterparts. Ayana Taketatsu did a good job as Kirino---nothing really different from her performance on the Drama CD. I might have preferred someone else to do the role, but her voice is fine (though she sounds a bit like one of the females in MM!). Kirino is not necessarily my favorite character, by the way; but she didn't come across as too overbearing, which is a good thing. on the other hand, I loved Manami :3; and loved her very few seconds on screen. I think she might become my favorite character in the anime as well, since I loved her character in both the light novel and Drama CD. she reminds me a bit Aoba Tsugumi; and she has a particular charm for being your "very normal" childhood friend.

Manami :3

looking forward to the next episode. I think we might see the introduction of more characters, but more Manami would be great, though.

Kirino: Tomatsu Haruka (1), Kugimiya Rie, Hirano Aya, Kitamura Eri.
Kuroneko: Tanaka Rie (1), Sawashiro Miyuki, Tamura Yukari, Kugimiya Rie.

Personally, I'm not jumping to conclusions and will just enjoy whatever Taketatsu brings for 2-3 episodes before committing to an opinion. But there is certainly a possibility that she has been shot to the top too quickly and given roles she isn't suited for.

One thing I've noticed about Japanese otaku, however: they seem to prefer the seiyuus they know to just about any new seiyuu, and seem to prize a homogenized "professional" sound above anything unusual.

funny that I also thought of Haruka Tomatsu for Kirino's role, but that's probably because I like her voice and every character she has so far voiced. :P

Put the shoe on the other foot.

What would she think if she suddenly found out that he liked these kind of games because he identified with the little sisters and was infatuated with the big brothers in them?

Do you have to be 20 in Japan to sign for porn package deliveries to your house? Or maybe she has a PO box, lol.

I'm confused... now i'm wondering:

Is it possible in real world for a younger sister to enjoy imouto-loving games while assimilate herself into the older brother role?

In fact, in there an younger sister in this world who gonna enjoy watching an younger sister who like imouto-loving games and assimilate herself in the older brother role?

Furthermore, is there any younger sister here who will find it's amusing to see a younger sister somewhere who gonna love watching an younger sister who like imouto-loving games and assimilate herself in the older brother role?

PS: My head hurts...

Edit 2: Btw I admit Kirino is cute... i have a feeling that the imouto type will take over this year moe contest

I think you're over-parsing things.

You don't have to "assimilate" yourself into the role of anyone in the game in order to enjoy the fictional story. The stories are told in the first-person perspective to establish the point of view, but it's still just fiction. Kirino's explanation that she finds the characters so cute is perfectly possible; there doesn't necessarily have to be some deep psychological meaning to it.

And same with the viewers of the anime. People can watch the anime and appreciate the fictional situation being setup without thinking so deeply about the psychological implications of what's being shown. Any "little sisters" watching this show don't have to be able to identify with Kirino in order to enjoy the fictional story (nor do any of the male viewers have to identify with the older brother -- in some ways we're supposed to identify with Kirino anyway!).

If you ask me, sometimes fiction is just fiction, and people can just enjoy it for what it is.

Why not? When I asked about the reverse situation I got "Ew". However, there are masses of fujoshi - girls who love watching pretty boy gay guys doing their thing, often quite explicitly.

What's up with that?

Basically I am just a bit worried about how my younger sister and her friend would think if they know that i introduce this anime to my sister. To be safe, i should not. But then hey, i didn't expect girls to love K-on so much....

I just want to dig a little deeper. But would not mind to drop if the topic becomes too complicated

You mean just like Keima and Kirino said about how 2D and 3D world are different?

But isn't the first totally found his own entity in 2D world, while the second also needed her brother to give her an objective viewpoint of the situation? I means if she's confused with her own hobby, so it must be at least out of the norm psychologically, right?
Kirino herself also admitted that she enjoyed being the "older brother" role and be the target of affection of all those imoutos, isn't she? Or is it the problem with the translation?

PS: at first, i thought Kirino tried to lure her older brother into those games/anime so he will treat her nicer. Totally didn't expect the real case

She just wants someone to talk about her hobby with. Nothing weird about that.

Reading the comments by the mangaka, he doesn't seem thrilled one bit that some companies want to associate with the anime version of his title. Seems to hint a bit more what direction this guy was taking the story.

Manami came off as a bit of an airhead though, as opposed to her frequent banter with Kyousuke. You also don't get a sense of his fondness for her. Well, maybe next ep.
