Just watched the first episode. The story is fitting to a mystery/horror anime, the character-design is almost close to reality, the color palette looks wonderful, the effects looks perfect and the opening theme is awesome (makes me think of "De l'eau" by French artist Elodie Frégé, one of my favorite songs). A masterpiece to me.

As usual, Momoe reminds me of Avril Bradley from GOSICK. Not only is she a short-haired blonde with a knack for the supernatural, she also ends up as the "information gatherer" for the MC (Avril for Kazuya and Momoe for Teiichi). Both also goes KYAAAAAAAAA~! when encountering the supernatural.

Actually, that's not even chapter 1. They probably choose to start with a chapter that has already everyone in the cast and the next episode is going to tell how Teiichi and Yuuko got acquaintanced. In other words we'll have to wait another episode for the clothes changing scenes

Some thoughts about ep 1 :

- Maybe has this habit of adding several draws of "Yuuko's mood" at the back cover of every volume, I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that the anime is going to do the same (it's when the "episode 1" screen was shown we could see some of them).

- The object that they found in Yuuko's tomb is completely different than the one from the manga (hair comb vs cat bell). That, coupled that with the fact that there is an scene in the ending with another cat bell and with Yuuko immersed in water leads me to think that they are going to go for an original ending (one which will explain's Yuuko's death, bringing a meaning to those two bells).

The fact that various events in the manga have been manipulated like film that has been spliced and pasted in in the series is already making things worrisome for the adaptation accuracy of the anime series.

This first episode is more set up on how Yuuko is invisible to everyone but Teiichi and Kirie. Still has the comady in place so thats a plus. Would had liked for the first episode to be Teiichi first meeting with Yuuko. Hopefully that'll be the next episode.

Yeah, I can't say that starting with all the chars in tow is a good start.This ep had too many hijinks, like it's giving a false focus on what this anime is going to be about. I think it would have been better if they didn't show the first 1/3 twice(showing Yuuko from the beg), and jumped immediately into how they met, which, based on the drama cd, took 8 mins. I think the events of chp 0 far better encapsulate what makes Yuuko so freakin' adorable and gives a better idea of what this anime will(well, SHOULD) be focused on. I do hope next ep is as good as how the drama cd did it(imo it was near perfect in comparison and atmosphere to the manga).

The animation was cheaper than I expected too. Not a big deal really.

Well I can understand the choice to start off at a point where the main characters are all assembled. Get a feel for the personalities involved here and then have where it all began start off next episode.

Did get a few laughs out of Yuuko kicking our lead into the food elevator and at how dense Okonogi can be.

Overall thought it was a fine first episode. Get a chance to hear everyone's voice for this and get settled into the series.

A minor complaint of mine is that repeating that first scene with animated was redundant.

Wow, another anime about a dead girl...lol.

So far it looks good, but the cast seem less interesting compared to the other anime involving a dead beauty. Instead of a rich and naive zombie girl, we get a mischievous, energetic and playful ghost girl.
