I wasn't expecting to like this one but after the second episode I think I'm in for the journey.
Although the sooner Lord Stabby McStabStab gets what's coming to him the better.

Dat Magi, next Ao no Exorcist confirmed. (Pretty sure that's exactly what Shogakukan were hoping it to be)

I'd say by the end of the first season, it'll have surpassed Ao no Exorcist.
Still a long way to be the next FMA though. But it's not impossible!

Eh it's still a long way for it to still get to AnE's level, AnE Vol #7 had a print run of 1 million, and that was back in April. The highest print Shogakukan manga would be Detective Conan (Vol 72 did 750k) though Silver Spoon has probably surpassed that figure by now.

But yeah definitely on the track to be the next AnE, and if the anime sells over 10K a second season might even push it towards FMA levels.

^Ao no Exorcist eventually reached total culminative sale of 7 million for 7 volumes, reaching average of 1mi/vol by the end of the anime series.

Magi is currently sitting at 6.5mil over 14 volumes, bringing it to 460k/volume and it's two weeks into the anime.
It had a surge of 50% increase in total sales that last one month.

The total sale (per volume) only needs to double over the course of the anime's run to match Ao no Exorcist.
I think it's safe to say that's an easily surpassable goal.

FMA on the other hand... the toal sale needs to quadriple to match.

Good for Shounen Sunday...I know they've struggled but with this and Arakawa's new series things are looking better for them.

This is a 2 cour series, so it will probably have between 24-26 episodes. The schedule only shows up to episode 12 at the end of December, so the chances of less episodes are more likely.

Wow, Magi is selling very well. I hope the trend continues.

Great episode but I can't wait for the Alibaba fight in the next.

Animate is listing 10 volumes and since SAO has 9 volumes i think its safe to say the anime will be 26 episodes (or 25) so yay .

Ep3
There's only one thing I didn't like too much, and it's that Aladdin looking down at Jamil like a worthless piece of trash didn't look nearly as chilling in the anime.

That was one of those moments making you fall in love with Aladdin in the manga, so that's regrettable.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:
I think that all the serious expressions in general aren't as well done in the anime. Mor scared the fuck out of me in the manga with how menacing she looked, which is one of the reasons why I like her, but unfortunately the anime seems to have toned it down by a lot.

Also, looks like they forgot to animate something here :

Spoiler for Alibaba's "thingy" is his trademark, how could someone possibly forget it?:

Just like they forgot to animate the bloodstains on Goltas' shirt. A-1 is getting sloppy.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

As for Morgiana, she only teleported outside the city. Hence, she is still close by. As for Alladin, I have no idea where he went to. It seems like he went to Mongolia, but I really hope he is not that far away.

Found it funny how fast Goltas picked up Jamil despite having so many injuries.

Man, I don't really agree with where they decided to end this episode. It's just such a bad place because it kinda leaves people hanging. I guess they had to fit as much as they could in 3 episodes, though.
