To be fair, I only have one volume of the mag. ....because I only discovered the mag recently, and besides seeing it once in the store... I've never seen it again.

I now find this event quite eerie.

You can find it at Barnes and Nobles and Borders, in the US anyway; Ive also seen it pop-up at FYE and a few other video stores that carry Anime.

Well, I just recieced the first volume. I would have gotten it earlier but no one decided to check the mail. But what not.

The cover looks really nice and efficent and it was printed well. The translation seems solid, though I havnt really read through it yet. The color pages are VERY nice, it's especially great at 'USODA'. Overall, I'm pretty happy <3

I just wish that it wouldnt take a few years for all the volumes to be realeased.

Similar to Hinamizawa, I live in a small town without such shops nearby. Takes like 30 minutes by car to get to any such stores, so it's not really worth it. (thank god for online shopping .)

Thanks for the tip though, If I happen to see those stores next time I venture far out, I'll give it a look.

I got my copy the other day at Borders, but I looked through it more tonight. I'm a bit dissapointed that they have Rena's last name as "Ryugu" instead of "Ryuuguu", but other than that I'm very impressed with it.

Oh, a quick question: On the page where Keiichi is having someone apologize to him, they have it in black and white. I remember reading a scanlation that had it colored. Was that page supposed to be in color?

That was in color in the magazines, originally, but was in black in white in the first released volume in Japan.

Yes, I got the first volume of the Manga when it came out in my Borders on the 18th. x3
It's quite different from the Anime of Onikakushi-hen. like Mion being more harassing to Keiichi
And the colored USODA page really got me. xD;;;;;

Really? My copy of the Japanese volume seems to have it in colour. It's not a first printing copy but I can't imagine them adding in more coloured pages for later printings, so it must be in all of them.

The first few pages after the table of contents? Odd, but possible. It's not in the scans I have.

Second volume of Onikakushi-hen coms out in February and the magazine's also still on volume 2, so the manga's not very far.

Grr...they should really release 2 chapters a month instead of just one...

BUT, at least they are releasing it at all. I just can't believe Higurashi manga is actually coming in the states! I never thought it would happen!

same here!
it appeared once, then appeared two months later, than disappeared, never to be seen again.
I've heard/seen that the manga is more gory than the anime, which fills me with glee.
I'm hoping to get the manga soon, once it appears in my bookstore(or when i can order it online ).

I got my first Higurashi Manga a while ago and it's such a great feeling to finally hold it in my hands! I really love the Higurashi mangas, I read through all of them. They're great adaptions ... They're the reason why I dislike the first anime season.
I can't wait for Tatarigoroshi-hen. It's my favourite manga of the question arcs. I love the artwork. And of course, it's such a depressing arc ... but Meakashi-hen is even worse ...

But for now I'm really looking forward to the 2nd volume of Onikakushi-hen! Karin Suzuragi really has some skill for impressive scenes. And it's painful to watch Keiichi's change. I could feel a lot of sadness while reading it.

Besides!! I really enjoyed reading ryukishi07's and Karin Suzuragi's comments in the last pages. It's very interesting what the creator's have to say to their own work.

Chapter 3 should be done in no time!

Could you send me the raws for 4 again by any chance?

(I have the script but seem to have lost the raws...)

Thanks again for your consummate awesomeness Ace!
