Out of all the things he did, he just had to fight Ruscoe. Hopefully, that fight would actually bring some light for him to man up and actually show some moves like he did in the beginning. When Victorique gets the blueprints of the tower, everything started to make sense. The deep red rose was the cause of the poisoned finger. By fully touching the rose, one would see that Leviathan was there as he was from before. Funny that they played a height joke during her serious deduction and had Kujo voluntarily lift her up. Leviathan was actually an Afican American who just wanted to protect his homeland from certain doom and colonization. A nice small little scene of Kujo an Victorique in the end. They will be separated, be it WWII or by some other means, but they will still love each other.

Nice summary. Leviathan wasn't African American...he was just African.

Yeah couldn't help remembering that episode when watching the episode. It was less "wow the guy got out of there, good job" than "wait they proved you can't do that" . Victorique needs to polish up her knowledge a bit here .

Don't know if I would go that far in the comparison, although I certainly agree with you.

For me his voice is the best when he is calm and showing kindness to Victorique - his voice is at it's lowest pitch then, and I quite like it.

It is when he expresses surprise or anger or whatever and his voice's pitch goes up that I don't like it.

Personal taste, I know.

So the Marquis plan was moved up in time. Grevil seems to have become attached to Victorique indeed, glad he tried to stick up for her. Also good thing he decided to help out Kujo. Not sure if the Marquis knows that Grevil is helping Kujo though.

So Beelzebub's skull is where it comes together. The two guys Kujo was with are definitely shady. So Brian Roscoe is after some box which was originally from the village of grey wolves. That's why he's using Victorique as bait. I wonder what's in that box. Wasn't sure if Cordelia actually led Kujo to Victorique as part of the plan or if she just cares about her own daughter. At least Vctorique is back to her own self, her face was priceless yet again when Kujo showed up.

Episode 16 was one of those few anime episodes that I thought was only halfway done when we got to the end. Fascinating all the way.

I loved the embrace, and V's little smile at the end of it.

There were two great seiyuu moments for me: Sawashiro Miyuki saying "the night of magic has just begun." And Yuuki Aoi in the preview, the way her voice turned to a smile as she said "amai okashi" (translated as "cream-filled sweets"). But the episode itself wasn't one of Ao-chan's best. I just heard a couple of her standard turns of voice, rather than anything special.

How did Cordelia manage to outrun Kujo, the master of stair climbing? (he climbs the humongous staircase of the tower everyday... he should have some solid legs and by now). Anyhow, that was a nice episode. It's always nice to see Cordelia and Brian Roscoe. Seems like Cordelia is going to get directly involved this time. Things are moving quickly.

The Victorique x Kujo scene was heartwarming. She never stopped waiting for him, she trusted he'd come save her without fail.

Pretty sure the Marquis is actually the blond guy with glasses in the opening song, that was always my guess anyway (plus, blond hair is a recessive gene so Grevil/Victorique would need two blond parents to get their hair color, not that the novelist probably thought about that ).

And he sort of looks like Grevil. So I agree with this thought but who's to know, we might get a surprise. I definitely think the older guy on the train will be a part of this arc because he appeared interesting. What I'm trying to clear up is that there seems to be a fight between science and magic? Is that part of whats going on?

^Sounds like it, "magic vs science, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!" is a fairly common conflict. Also, Victorique has been disproving magic in every mystery she's been involved in, wonder if that's partially a way at getting back at her father, proving the magic that he believes in isn't real.

Yep, I had the exact same reaction - I was waiting for the eyecatch to come up and the closing credits started rolling.
