Same function as the capture barrier the Enforcer squad puts up against Vita and Zaphira, though Signum plows straight through that one.

As the names imply they're really more for preventing people from escaping than defending yourself, though it could certainly force a stalemate against an opponent without really powerful magic if you hid inside it.

I think they are designed to keep people in but not out. Its easy to get in... Getting out though is another story. You need very powerful magic, or in the TSAB case, you would need someone on the outside to take out the mages keeping it up.

I think this has been posted somewhere on the forum... but what's the official romanization of Chrono's family name?

Note that while that site lists "Zafila", it's officially "Zafira" here. (And "Aruf", though she didn't get listed there.)

And it ended up "Raising Heart" after all...

Curious: How did Scrya end up? Scryer makes a lot more sense, concidering it roughly means 'to reveal' which is what Yuuno's proffesion is all about.

Nope, "Scrya" it is. (He's not a blood elf, after all! ;p)

Maybe Scryer was just too obvious? And it sounds odd. "Yuuno Scryer". See?

Not really, 'Scrya' and 'Scryer' don't have that much of a difference in sound in my language.

Scrya sounds better to me

Offhand I discovered Yuuno is a boy and a girl's name.

The site still uses "Zafila". And there's still nothing on Zest (how much can you hate a guy?) .

Btw, may I request a translation:

Spoiler for On Wing Road:

Much thanks in advance .

A path of light created to move in the air.

The path is made of a tape shaped magical array.

While it can interfere with matter enough to create a crack in an abandoned building, it has not been used in a direct attack.

Also, from the fact that Teana can walk and run as normal on the Wing Road (ref: Ep5, Ep8), it is clear that others can ride on the Road too.

When rescuing the Cradle Assault Squad, it managed to hold 6 girls (including Vivio) plus a bike, thus we can deduce it can handle a mass of a few hundred kilograms.

At the beginning, we saw only simple straight lines, but as proficiency improved, we saw agile uses such as multiple parallel roads of changing heights (Ep8) and spiral deployment (Ep12).

Mach Caliber can also activate it at will.

It was used to save Subaru who fell outside of the railcar (Ep5), protect Subaru from Ginga's attack (Ep23). While a single piece is about 10m long, Subaru can seamlessly extend it.

During Ep3's training, it is shown that if the magic is "deleted" in the middle, the road will disappear with Subaru on it.

Also, the tape array can be seen by others, and thus telegraphs the move. However, the latter weakness can be covered by using complicated paths like in Ep4, or to ride near the front of the path near Ep7.

Even with these weaknesses, it is a way (currently the only way) for Subaru, who cannot use flight magic, to move in the air, and is commonly used in combat.

In Subaru's fight with Ginga (Ep12, Ep 22 and Ep23), both use Wing Road. Ginga's has a differen magical color but is presumably similar functionally.

By Ep 15, the increase in distance and Mach Caliber's Force and Grip control allows aerial movmenet close to aerial combat. By the epilogue, maneuverability is equal to an average aerial combat mage (according to the Chronicles).

It is Subaru's original magic, called an "inherent" magic, and thus has differen formulae than normal. Sharry took considerable effort to make Mach Caliber be able to activate it (manga Ch8). However, from Novu's similar Air Liner, it is probable that the real origin of the magic was Quint, and all the others cloned it.

Question:

On Mid-Childa, I got the impression from StrikerS and the early episodes of the first series that they do not speak Japanese as the 'official language' for the TSAB. Has there ever been reference to what language they do speak? Did they ever bother to explain how Nanoha was able to communicate with the TSAB (not to mention Yuuno) when she first met them?

I'd assume that the official language English, as that's what Raising Heart and Bardiche speak...
