Oh man, just you wait till the second season. Keiichi is absolutely mindblowing there. He easily jumps into the position of best character there.

I had to vote for Rena, she seems to be veru cute *0* but also his oyashiro mode, super detectve powers and everything in her is awesome, i would like to vote for keiichi too, hes awesome in the second season and first also, watching him beating Teppei is something to remember

It's gotta be Rena for me. Strangely I don't care much for Psycho!Rena like a lot of others seem to, I just like her character in general. Everything about her is just....

I agree with you for the most part, but I love all parts of Rena, even if she's psychotic.

Indeed^^ Sometimes I get a little annoyed on Psycho Rena, but when she's Omochikaeri-mood she's the best

For the first season, I have to go with Shion.

I think she's the reason on why I love Higurashi so much. Even though her killings were heart less and violent, she pretty much Satoko stand up much more. Right? Without the Satoko stabbing scene, Satoko wouldn't have that much of chracter developement. And the fact that Shion did it on love, well, I liked that.

I kinda wish I voted Satoko, thinking about her stabbing scene again, and seeing her microscopic votage total. T~T

I voted for Rena.

I like both her "omochi kaeri!" mode and her "oyashiro-sama" mode (although Shion's got a better evil laugh...). She's just awesome

My second favorite character was Satoko...although she annoyed me at first...but then I saw tatarigoroshi-hen

. I understand her better now.

I liked all the main characters for the most part, actually

Definitely Rena.

I think she was my favourite from the start of the series, and stuck the whole way through. I just love the way she reacts to cute things. xD Psycho-Rena + cleaver is also a very good combination. 8D;

She just takes everything to the extreme: sometimes totally cute or completely psycho=D

The fact that she has a sort of 'symbol weapon', namely that cleaver she drags around and that she often says 'Kana? Kana?' or 'USODA!', doesn't hurt either...it's very memorable at the least^^

Keiichi is beyond amazing, imo. ♥

Even though there has been so many arcs to Higurashi, Onikakushi-hen will always remain my favourite. Everything is so perfect. I didn't even feel a sense of dislike towards Keiichi when I found out the solution to Onikakushi-hen, like a lot of my friends have.

Oh Kei, where would Higurashi be without you?

Most people remember Satoko's arc(s) as sort of painful to watch, thus by extension don't care for her as much as the others.
