Yeah...that's the only thing running on my mind the moment they say top or bottom.

So, Barnaby has his millionaire parents killed when he was a kid, he has a partner with a domino mask and strong 'ambiguously gay duo' vibe, his method of fighting crime relies on analysis and use of technology...yeah, he's totally Batman. This episode focuses more on the characterization and less on the action, and that makes it a bit boring for me. Well, the character develop;ment is necessary though, and there are moments when I'm really laughing like when Origami Cyclone suddenly appeared out of nowhere and when Tiger was going on that sarcastic "building, building" reply. Also, worst disguise in the world, even Team Rocket pulls off a more convincing one than that. No wonder it seems that Karina Lyle seems to recognize him at the end.

I thought Barnaby came off pretty well in this episode, he seemed like a real "pro", but there was some good back and forth between him and Kotetsu.
As for Agnes, my impression was that she didn't know about the bomb, but that she may have known about the previous incidents. It's hard to know, but I'd guess that Hero TV probably only creates incidents when their isn't anything going on. She might undergo some interesting development over the series... Wild Tiger X Agnes anyone? |

Oh god you're right. XD I snickered at the "top or bottom" exchange, guess noticing it on my own makes me a fujoshi? Anyway, I was expecting the show to be a more, paint-by-the-numbers, villain-of-the-week deal so I'm quite pleased to show them already throwing in hints at a larger plot. And I was bemused by Kotetsu's answer to what the villain looked like, just like your everyday villain. XD

Yeah this show just keeps getting better for me each week. Main character is really likable.
Unlike a certain other show I watched today, episode 3 managed to follow up what was already shown and deliver. I'm pretty convinced by this point that I'll end up liking the entirety of this show.

Did anyone read the text in the newspaper clipping about Barnaby's parents? I was hoping for a little back story, but instead it seemed to be something lifted straight out of the Wall Street Journal (talking about Ben Bernanke and the Fed).

I don't care what people say about the minor flaws in this show, it's about time that a series like this comes around. I'm glad that this isn't another harem series or having a harem lead that you just want to give a Fatality to just to put him out of his misery.
From what I can tell, most of the heroes are adults and that's a refreshing thing to see considering the trends of our current list of animes this year. Kotetsu is a very likable main character. I like the fact that he has to balance his life as a hero as well as being a father which is a completely different kind of protagonist that we are used to seeing in this genre. It's kind of on the same path as Panty and Stocking in that it isn't Otaku friendly and it has a very nostalgic and Western feel to it that will hook you in without it being too blatant or too confusing for even a younger viewer to watch it. Moe is cool and all, but you gotta give that a rest from time to time before it really gets played out. It doesn't need to be in every anime to be used as a tool to cover for the lack of story or depth by distracting you with it. The closest thing to a loli in this series seems to be the Dragon kid but that's about it and I don't think she's gonna act that way...I could be wrong though. Speaking of the other heroes, I can't wait to see Origami Cyclone in actual combat instead of being a background ornament for his company. He's repping for the fanbase in general so I'm hoping he's gonna do something cool, his design alone is probably my favorite from the group. I'm actually surprise by the Western style comedy as well as the notice that was placed on the door of Kotetsu's firm had surprisingly good English in it too. It looks like the director (of The Big O) knows where he wants his show to get it's recognition/money from. On a side note, it also seems that Agnes is going to be the Lois Lane type character since she's in the media and stuff. I wouldn't say she'll be getting saved all the time or as much as Lois does, but her tenacity to getting things done even if it means going through dangerous terrain is very Lois Lane like to me. Her chemistry with Tiger was...interesting to say the least. I can't wait to see the next episode since it's gonna focus on Karina Lyle...Blue Rose...I feel compelled to hitting up a 7 eleven right now... Last edited by playmaker2k; 2011-04-18 at 07:47. |

I decided to check this anime out yesterday and watched the first two episodes. And boy did I love it! I liked it not only for the premise and plot, but also because of how well it reminded me of watching some of my favorite Western-styled superhero television series back in the day when I was younger. And I think that that's what this show's aiming for as far as I've seen.
Wild Tiger makes a really good example of a hero, and you can tell with his ideals as one imo That's what makes him awesome if you exclude his tendency to damage private property. But then again, stuff like that is sure to happen every now and then when you're a superhero. lol |

Some speculations after watching ep3:
-It seems that the chick and her superiors are working with Ouroboros, the talk about the C9 and how come a mere villain possessing it, hints at a well-connected organization with influential people, which is in this case Ouroboros. -Mr. Albert Maverick has got something to do with the murder of Bunny's parents, just look at Bunny when he saw the face of that old fart.
