The source material --- collected 4-koma manga volumes are available here at amazon.co.jp:
Volume 1 http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%89%E3...7092300&sr=8-2
Volume 2 http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%89%E3...7092300&sr=8-5
Volume 3 http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%89%E3...7092300&sr=8-6
Volume 4 (just released this month!!!) http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%89%E3...7092300&sr=8-4

(yes, its in japanese. The kanji doesn't have furigana at first.. then it gets added... sometimes it vanishes again -- but the reading level requirement isn't beyond a second year japanese language high schooler who has been paying attention ).

The manga itself is very cheap.. but shipping costs across the Pacific are high it so ordering a few books at once saves on shipping cost.
It is also highly probable that Kinokinuya will have it (haven't checked yet) or other asian import bookstores.

The style is very much "talking heads" if you're familiar with various comic styles, but the imagery is definitely nice to look at. Lots of nice chapter page art and a smattering of colored comics.

Or you could try to wing it by doing an all-nighter - I hear that also works

If you can read enough Japanese to order from Amazon, then Shoboi have a convenient page of merchandise links. They also list the broadcast schedule.

EDIT: Oh, and although the schedule only shows 13 episodes, the fact that there are 12 DVDs suggests we're looking at 24 episodes or more.

There may be rioting in the streets if someone tries to get away with a 13:12 ratio at $50 per disc

Everything I've read/heard indicates 24 episodes.... the schedules tend to format only for a "season" at a time (12-13 eps) I think.

Okay.....that was quick with the whole doujin thing. Guess even Lucky Star isn't sacred. Are they normally out that quickly? I hereby dub it Lucky Doujin.

If they really want the magic 6:1 ratio it would end up being 2 episodes per disc. So 12 disc with 2 episodes each would break down to a 6:1 ratio.

The figures that come with the books look nice.

On some sites you have to search for Raki Suta and Lucky Star to find everything.

Yesasia has more than just music-related stuffs; I consider it the mini-Amazon of Asian things. I find that it's more expensive, but you can get free shipping. The one thing I really dislike about it is that it's soooo easy to mix up the Japanese and Chinese versions of a manga.

Porn Most Likely. It's the Lucky Dojin that I think Makube X2 posted a while back.

Some fans have the eye-rolling habit of taking perfectly innocent characters and having them do pornographic (usually way off-character) things in fan fiction. Sometimes the characters aren't so innocent.
Often amazing is the level of artistic skill some of them have in drawing the characters (unlike some of the Yoko art over in the Lagann thread ... some of the stuff Maids is digging up is just piss-poor drawing skills (anatomical art failures)).

There's a couple of figure pre-orders floating about (cdjapan.co.jp) of Kona and Kagami. Figures look pretty good (cartoony).

Either that or the company didn't pay Famitsu enough.
