Pharmacy

Your Current Status.

Community Pharmacy Pre-reg student. Graduated from Uni about two months ago.

What made you choose it?

Couldn't get into Medicine. XP

Are you happy with it?

Not really. The work in community pharmacy is horribly repetitive and unrewarding but at least the pharmacy itself is decent since there's a good environment and the staff are nice. I've worked at far worse pharmacies.

How do you see yourself in the future?

Hopefully I'll be able to switch sectors into Hospital pharmacy as soon as possible after I finish my pre reg year. (A profession I can actually admire, even if the pay isn't as good)
You know I think you made the right choice going to pharmacy. Pharmacy will probably will give you good income, despite doing less work than a doctor. From actual doctors generally I hear is negative things, while pharmacists generally have happier or easier life.

What made you choose it?

probably boil down to my hobby. playing game and watching anime (mecha show especially).

also my fascination of technology. i amaze how fast it goes. and keep accelerating! make me wonder if I can found/invented new stuff

Are you happy with it?
currently? well i just started school and it's quite disaster because they use new system.

Chuck half of it in diversified investments to earn a self-sustainable income, and set up a business doing something that you like. There are SpecOps operators who liked their line as much as personal freedom that they become security advisors for EP details, sailors who saw the messy world for years and desired peace that they built buddhist shrines for themselves in another part of the world, property agents who got tired of running around that they are planning to open a dessert stand at a hawker centre........the list goes on.

And I met all these people while working in the various places, even though as part time, these old men's grandfather stories are actually worth listening to. Being a freelancer, despite the cons of having a lousy volatile income, isn't that bad after all.
Haha, I have met a lot of these people too! I have thought about starting my own business on multiple occasions, and I do have ideas, but it seems like most of my talents lie in Critical Analysis, Ops and Risk Management. It's also much harder to run your own business than you think .. When you run a small business.. all your customers are your "boss"

I also have terrible luck. This may sound funny coming from someone such as myself who has "made it" by working hard and (arguably) being somewhat smart. But let me tell you, from experience, it's better to be lucky than to be good.

What soul? You mean my feelings to make Japan a normal nation with nuclear weapons and being in an informal union with Korea?

It is hard to run your own business. Had done it twice and didn't really like it, though something tells me that I am probably going to run one someday. I am more or less getting used to the fact that the customer is the biggest, though I am starting to understand that employees don't like their boss not being around when the customer is being ludicrous.

If you think you have bad luck, think about someone who is worse off - there are some people, no matter how hard they work, never made much in life.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

I'm not ungrateful at all about what I have and what I have managed to accomplish. I'm just saying I generally don't have "luck" on my side. I'm not blaming anything on it, I'm just saying that based on historical experience I'm not counting on any

"Just because you work hard, doesn't mean you will be successful. But if you don't work hard, you will likely never be successful."

With regards to luck.. let's just say my lifetime losses at casinos far outreaches what they should be based purely on statistical odds.. And despite the correctness of my investment theses .. let's just say some investment short positions haven't turned out right .. So I've become a bit tad risk averse when it comes to situations that are not under my own personal control.

EDIT: @GenjiChan -- Thanks for creating the thread! I didn't know it existed and it's a great way for people to get to know each other and get some context with regards to their backgrounds!

What's your Profession/your planned course to take up in college??

Visual and Audio Communications (basically video/audio/graphics editing). Also have been taking occasional acting courses.

Your Current Status.?

Freelance Voice acting, working at a bike shop, and having way too much time on my hands. Oh and I'm very close to finishing my degree.

What made you choose it??

I've always foung editing video and creating graphics to be enjoyable enough that I felt it'd make a perfect egree to pursue while I try to accomplish my other goals. As for the acting, well I love acting!

Are you happy with it??

Thus far I'm happy enough with it, though I've had to learn a lot about coding for web site development which is definitely not my forte. My restraunt job isn't stressful and I've been having decent success with my freelance voice acting work.

How do you see yourself in the future?

Near future, probably working at a job for graphics or website development while still trying to get my foot in the door for voice acting. Eventually I hope to get enough consistent work in the voice acting field that i can reasonably live off that, but who knwos how that'll turn out.

An update for me, I'm still unemployed (), but I now have two pending interviews, one with a small consultancy that deals with Nuclear decommissioning, and another with Nikon's precision intruments division.

Though, I'd really prefer to have the chance to work on Gundams...

At the moment I am a Medical Records Technician
at an Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center. I am also going to school full time to become certified for this position.

It's not what I planned to do at all. I also have a Master's in Library Science so I wanted to become a librarian but it just didn't work out (and in fact I was unemployed for awhile until I got my current job through a temp agency).

Anyways I do like my job. It's actually somewhat related to being a librarian since I still deal with information (just confidential medical information). I do hope to get paid more and my position will advance once I get my degree since at the moment the pay is not the best. I do like the people I work with though and anything is better than being unemployed.

Also even though it's never what I planned most of my careers have always been related to the medical field: medical publishing after college, internship in science & medical libraries, short time working to process international medical students student records, & now this.

What's your Profession/your planned course to take up in college?
English teacher

Your Current Status.
Studying linguistics and literature in college. Just started this year.

What made you choose it?
My English's always been really good, so I considered either being a teacher or a translator. I went for the former, as it sounded more fun to me. The idea of working with different kinds of people everyday appealed to me.

Are you happy with it?
'The hell you think? Damn straight I am. I feel incredibly accomplished with what I do. It's definetely not easy, but everyday feels fulfilling and fun.

How do you see yourself in the future?
I would tell you if I knew how the river flows.
