Learning Japanese saves more 1-2 days a week waiting for subs

Nope. After all, all the Romance languages were derived from Latin, including lots of the grammar and vocabulary. Not to mention the amount of vocabulary that made it into English. And especially the grammar: since Latin is so systematic, it helps you think of grammar in a more organized way. Seven years of Latin is why I never study for grammar tests in English class. Plus, like I said before, regardless of direct practical uses, it still expands your thinking.

... really oughta get back on topic. So, Taiga poking Inko-chan. Was that cute or what?

Latin, made our English language. Without it, we would have been pure caveman - like nubs. Yes Taiga poking the half - demented Inko - chan was just plain funny lol.

How is Japanese or for that matter, any commonly used language "useless"?

Up to here in my rewatch now. Something that's been bothering me for a while... in the Coalguys subs it says Noto plans on becoming an editor for a magazine and then a "freeloader."

... should this have been "freelancer?" That would seem to make more sense.

I think the term he used was something along the lines of "freeter" but yeah, seems odd.

aye, I heard "freeter" .... which can mean either freeloader/slacker OR freelancer. Basically, you're not full-time employed by The Machine (corporate).

In this case -- "freelancer" makes more sense based on the context of the rest of his sentence. He wants to be a free-lance journalist (self-employed/consultant/professional).

Hmmm, the coalguy website doesn't seem to be responding.... (page load error)

... hmmm, and coalgirls website went down because they foolishly set up on Wordpress which by definition of activity violated the Wordpress TOS.

Meh, will visit the IRC sites later...

I wouldn't say "freeter" means a freeloader/slacker at all. "Freeter" or "furiitaa" is short for "furii arubaitaa" and is basically someone who bounces from part-time to part-time and like you said, doesn't get stuck in The Machine.
