Spoiler for ep. 8:

-Kafuka in her yandere glory throughout the whole entire episode.
-The spy bit was hilarious, especially when Nozomu's students started beating up the people who wanted to kill him while he ran for his life.
-"May exposure" was a clever one and oh my god what did Chiri do with that shovel of hers.
-Half and half, there really is no such thing. Of course, Chiri is perfectly half and half, and that's the scariest thing about her.

Really, I still can't figure out what Kafuka's intentions are. One minute I think she likes Nozomu then the next I think she wants to make his life a living hell.

Moving aside, this episode was one of pure quality, and so it is my one of my favorites in ZSZS. The animation was also excellent, and we got some great shots of the characters.

Spoiler for Ep. 9:

-I find the way Maria started attacking people who were "boke" hilarious.
-"Natural boke" is scary, really reminds me of Chiri.
-No comment on Zetsubou Fight, though I did find myself cheering for Nozomu when he beat Harumi with one blow.
-Embarrassing pictures of everyone on the noticeboard, I'm glad I'm not in that class.
-Kafuka's actions are justified because in her perception she is only making the world a better place... not.
-Chiri is a bothersome character no matter how hard she tries to be dojiko
-I'm surprised Zetsumei sensei doesn't care much for bringning his own brother's demise but then again Kafuka's influence turns everyone against Nozomu!

Another episode of ZSZS that delivers with a bunch of cultural references and great animation! Being able to watch two episodes of Zetsubou right after another is the best! Kudos to Anonymous for releasing subs for ep. 8 and 9 and for improving the font!

* Kafuka is awesome. Even though she's the first girl introduced, others have since been taking the spotlight from her. It seems she knows this too, so she makes a glorious comeback with that creepy alternate identity as an admiring college student-next-door.

* Japan, what a country! You can't even betray it!

I think some of our British patrons might get the sense of déjà vu from how it made fun of the obsessive surveillance and the equally obsessive hatred of it and how it ties to the current ongoing debates in British society on their "camera-on-every-corner" issue.

* Lol @ Nozomu's defenders. Chiri is more fearsome than an army of Agent Smiths.

* I find the sudden anti-Nozomu sentiment at the end of "May Exposure" to be totally hilarious. Is Mr. Despair a front, hiding the honest, contributing citizen? Is he for real? Will he ever successfully kill himself when half of his harem students attempted his murder every other episode?

* Somehow I knew right away the half-and-half section was going to be Chiri's to direct.

*Zetsubou Fight?

*Maria is boring. She was funnier when she was a pseudo-Latin American illegal immigrant (obvious play on America's Mexican immigrants) and not someone who goes around hurting people all over.

If you're gonna hurt people in SZS, you'd better either be tsundere or psycho (little distinction here), and she's neither!

*The part about "natural bokeh" is funny though. Ahaha, calculated!

*Chiri's secret picture...hawt?

*Teacher's secret pictures...what was that? He enjoying life!? Jesus Christ, what has the world come to?

*Kafuka once again with her psycho power brings "unintended" harm upon her beloved teacher.

*Chiri got a complex, I see. Her attempts to deal with it are quite disastrous for Itoshiki's health though.

*I was actually happy that Mr. Despair survived the fight.

Yes, that's Abiru, but it's the male version of Abiru, hence I called that category of fan art gender bending. The other gender bender is Kiri, but there's only one picture of Male!Kiri.

There are twelve volumes of the manga released and on going, so I'm pretty sure they have a lot of material to work with.

Speaking of which, does anyone know how many copies of the manga have been sold in Japan?

The thing is, I remember reading some bits from volume 9 that were translated and they were already shown in Zoku; and the story about "too many ornaments/fancy" was fairly early - that's why the question.
