Got my latest OST order from CDJapan. Something new, something old

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

I dug up that old cd player because I was working and didn't want to boot up my PC to avoid distractions so I'm kicking it oldschool! It would be better if I had a minidisk player though

What a coincidence, my latest order from CDJapan was also something new, something old...

An upgrade from my old 7" Samsung I had for almost 7 years.

It runs very, very nicely! ^^

Also got a 128gb sdxc micro card for storage expansion and a pouch for it.

5120x2880 mouth-watering pixels and all the power I could ever want. Oh, and I guess anime looks good on it too.

My PC needs to chill, serious. I had quite a scare yesterday when my CPU went into the high 80°s Celsius and my BIOS flashed an overheat signal. I tried renewing the thermal paste (using Arctic Cooling Silver 5) under the Intel stock cooler, but the heat bloom continued (40° at idle and 70°+ when playing graphically demanding games like BF4 and Armored Warfare). So I went hardware-hunting for an aftermarket cooling system and...

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (39 Euros)
Cooler Master Silencio FP 120 (<15 Euros)

TL;DR…
Commentary on the Hyper 212

Anyway, I'm done. It was painful but for now it looks like a good investment.

P.S. Yes, I'm aware there's something called "water cooling" but from what I hear through the grapevine, it's more problematic in the long term (not to mention the risks of leaks, even with pre-filled, closed circuit models) in terms of component lifespan - at least compared to air fans. And yes, I also know there's an outfit called Noctua that manufactures even more efficient air-breathing radiators, but those things are bloody gigantic (almost twice as wide as the Hyper 212). I'm not sure I like that, regardless of the promise of lower temps. I'm not into (heavy) overclocking either, so there is no point in getting these behemoths.

EDIT: 31-34°C on idle and up to 57-59°C (max. recorded: 61°C) while playing Armored Warfare on Ultra settings (it uses CryEngine 3, which means weak CPUs will weep and call your mother names). NICE. And the fan is only spinning at stock speed.

Yep, finally got my tax refund. Aside from paying off debt, I got a new monitor, namely the LG 27MB85Z-B. I decided to get this over a 4k monitor is aside from my computer will most likely not support it since the GPU in my laptop is over 3-4 years old, but I needed a display with Thunderbolt connectivity so I can have a dual monitor setup, which is only possible through Thunderbolt.

The image quality is very good, considering that this monitor is geared towards professional photographers. I picked this over the Thunderbolt Display since its not as outdated and it doesn't cost almost 1000. I got this as an open box and it almost look as new. Also bought an used Belkin Thunderbolt Express dock since you need to have another Thunderbolt device between the Thunderbolt display and a Displayport monitor (Apple LED Cinema Display) or otherwise, it won't work.As seen above, plugging my 4-bay Thunderbolt RAID External HD will make the second display work.

Also imported a new Vita 2000, a white one along with a memory card from Amazon.co.jp through a forwarding service. I plan on having my old Vita modded so I can capture footage, but that has to wait since the company that is doing it has a large queue and it will become a waiting game.

Also, got other Japanese games as well such as Kantai Collection Kai, Atelier Shallie Plus and Gochuumon Wonderful Party.

Bade farewell to my old and worn-out guest chair, and welcomed a more comfortable racing/desk chair. 129 Euros.

Hot giggity, I could fall asleep in this thing. Wheels are a bit stiff, though. Might want to oil them a bit before breaking it in.

I've been having some issues with my Macbook Pro recently, so I bought the Seagate 1TB Backup Plus Slim for Mac to prevent the complete loss of all my files if worse comes to worse. It's Time Machine compatible and was relatively cheap ($59.99), so hopefully it works properly!

Apple just released Skylake updates for these babies. After 3 months of using just a desktop 5K and an iPad Pro, I realized just how much I missed having a laptop. So with the amazing resale value, I got enough back to afford the m7 model with 256 GB in Silver.

Paid for, should be arriving by the end of the month at the latest.
