Ayyup, when GS was laying his spike pit trap a night before the festival. That's where she said "He's a good person and is not related to evil whatsoever. He looks like an undead tho" somewhere along those lines.

I know he clearly isn't interested in romance and is also aware of just how broken he is as a person, but in the event that he does develop said interest, I'm still holding on to the small hope that Priestess would be the one he directs that interest towards. (A guy can dream, can't he?)

Personally, I'm against the ship because Priestess gains more from being his guide back into the world than a lover. That being said, I do like the role that they played with one another despite neither utter a word to each other. (Mostly because he was unconscious and she followed soon after)

Seeing him injured was one of the key components that led to her performing a Miracle for the first time, which allowed her to advance as far as she had today. Likewise, her healing him meant he could recover soon enough to go back to Calf Girl so that she was able to smile again, allowing him to keep his promise.

I am against that ship too (of course), as Priestess is now I don't really like her (I think author hype her too much), but I do think she has potential as character. Try imagine she would go full Nightwing and decided find her own way.

I said I am against that ship, but if Priestess became more independent I might mind much less in long run.

helping cow girl making a delivery for the ranch, what end up waiting for them is an ambush by massive goblins, turns out all a plot by an unprayer!

on the other hand, under the Handout of apprentice saint, the party, sans GS, embark toward the snowy mountain, where the ice witch rules the forever winter region!

surrounded in an abandoned snowy village, GS fighting alone while still have to protect cow girl, and where he is absence, priestess facing monsters which are not goblins, has to decide the party’s action—

“—I have a plan.”

CHAPTER 09

lizard priest steps forward to block the initial freezing attack and spare the party from total annihilation, however, it gets so cold he could not evoke miracle [Maniraptora] to counter, GS gives the order for DS to build a snow wall with [Spirit Wall] for temporary shelter, then the party recover with potions and DS’s fire wine, but the GDH making a fist and punches through the wall, sending HEA sprawling while wounds her, the party is retreating but not giving up fighting, as GS devices a plan.

first priestess uses her sling to attack the GDH to get its attention, as the hand moving toward and try to crush her, its fingers start to slip underneath it, turns out GS has poured oil/gasoline on the floor, GS then hits the hand with something adventurers don’t leave home without - a grappling hook, however, GDH is powerful enough to throw GS against the wall, saying he is okay, GS remains in a tug of war with the GDH and tells priestess to go ahead, priestess uses the blue ribbon to activate the ancient elevator to the lower level, the GDH starts to generate an ogre spell like magical flame turbulent, but before that can be completed, with DS casting his last spell [Tinder] providing warmth, HEA, using an arrow makes out of lizard priest’s [Sharp Claw], one knee on the ground and teeth pulling the bowstring, shoots a direct hit causing the GDH to stop just for a moment, and that is enough for GS to get out the way while give a tug for the hand to slide over the oil into the elevator shaft now opened by priestess, however, the demon hand grabs onto the side wall and trying to climb out, so priestess evokes her last miracle [Protection] to cover up the hole, the demon hand trying to break through and strikes the protection wall hard three times, each time causing great damages to priestess’s soul, as priestess is at her limit with her life flashes before her eyes, calling GS for help…

GS: it is coming.

Priestess starts to smile amid her anguish face when she realizes what GS means, the elevator which is raising to the surface at high speed, together with the protection wall crush the bracketed GDH to pieces, returning it to the dead goblin’s flesh and blood.

priestess: …hammer, and… anvil…
GS: you remember.
priestess: because you taught me that.

after they take the elevator to the surface, they encounter the rest of the goblins at the square in front the dungeon, around 50, all join together waiting for them, with each of the party member injury or wear down, and the army won’t move against goblins, lizard priest thinking it is a good day to die, asking GS what else he has up to his sleeve…

a purple lighting streaks across as goblins disappear in its pathway. it is SM with priest warriors to the rescue, it turns out before leaving GS had told SM all she needs to do is saying it is for against the chaos force which is trying to resurrect an evil god, not goblins. needless to say the goblins don’t stand a chance.

lizard priest: so here is also hammer and anvil.

as priestess looking upon SM, goddess like, holding onto the scale sword with the white holy swam beast beside her, she also longs to be as mature as SM in her heart.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think it would just make sense he'd end up with her...not that I'd like it, but you know. The whole thing from being the first girl, her being the only other girl that spends most time with him because of the quests (Elf Girl seems very irrelevant in this aspect), and the thing where she "humanizes" him more ever since. You know, scenes like Ch.24 of the manga.

The only other reasonable option to me is Cow Girl and the whole "coming back home safe for her", maybe adding the fact they're childhood friends and the like. In terms of relationships, elf girl and receptionist don't seem like they have anything going for him. Sword Maiden is a joke and is essentially 99% there for harem and fanservice.

Obviously, raising the shipping flag in this series is actually a joke because the ending of this series is unpredictable.

Therefore, everyone agrees with each other on helping GS curing his goblin metal health and there more to it.

Again with the shipping wars huh? After reading vl1-7 I'm guessing that GS will not end up with anyone. Yes, there's some romance scenes but none of those has significant impact that changes the course of the story. It most novels, you can tell if a romance is brewing if there's a change(even a little) in the development of the characters involved. However in this case, GS's character is almost unmovable. It's like he nullifies every romance element there is to the story. I don't know if the romcom is just a bait or the author can't write a romantic scene, or at least, a scene that matches to the depth and theme of the novel.

One more problem rising is that the novel focused too much on events progression(i.e the adventure part) and left the character development behind.

In short, the romance part of this novel is one-sided(just with the girls), and Goblin slayer's true route is with goblins.

Damn, if only that metal helm could do a blush effect...

In all fairness, there are many stories (most shonen battle manga tbh) that put shipping on the back burner and focus on prioritizing either major plot developments, character development/progression or both. Shipping is usually only addressed when the end is approaching or sometimes it gets addressed in literally the final chapter, which more times than not involves a time-skip. (Naruto and Bleach are two such examples that come to mind.)

That said, I'm not getting my hopes up with GS, but if the author were to decide to include any shipping in this story, he'll most likely add it in when the story is nearing its end. The potential for shipping is there, all of these little teases he throws in are proof enough, it just boils down to if or when he decides to focus on it.

There's also the very real possibility that GS may take the loner route, so the author has a lot of flexibility with regard to this particular topic and seems intent on keeping his options open.

Despite all that, while I am team Priestess, I'm quite aware that if there's any shipping at all, Cow Girl is the most probable and realistic choice anyway, but well, let me dream. haha

Of course I knew that, I was just trolling a bit. I went some pages back and GDH apparently stand for "Greater Demon Hand", Partially summoned evil god made out of goblin bodies.
