I got the impression Kuroko didn't find out about the Imoutos much before Accelerator got beaten. In the manga she didn't know what was troubling Misaka the day before [She seemed to think it might be Touma ] and she wouldn't have let Misaka go off to get killed on her own if she'd known what was going on.

Misaka telling Kuroko after that risks Kuroko getting involved. Either by pushing Touma and 10032 closer together so she can have Misaka to herself or trying to get echi with the Imoutos. Kuroko is probably not the best of Misaka's friends to help try and socialise the Imoutos. [Though for all we know Kuroko's been giving 19090 diet tips ]

I'd expect Misaka to talk to Saten or Uiharu or possibly even Index over Kuroko about the sisters. And talking to Kuroko about Touma has almost as many issues. I can see Misaka talking to 10032 about her problems with Touma rather than Kuroko.

From the anime(Index) Mikoto and Index(each one with their own arc) had the same screen time, well, Index had a bit more.
And judging from the novel readers thread, the relation between Mikoto and Touma is one-sided to the point that I started to think, "Another girls and Index self have more opportunities with the boy "

Hmmm, Touma is the typical completely dense about romance shounen hero type so I already lost hope for serious romance in Index. Mikoto's role in the novel hass been greatly decreased since vol 12. And even in vol 12, she's not involved in anything important on the storyline >.<. Too bad. I hope Touma will face problem from Science side a lot more soon ^^.

This isn't the Touma thread, so it's not really the right place to discuss it, but yes, he is impossibly dense.

The comment Misuzu made in the SS before leaving on the ambulance was the sort of thing that's really easy to pick up on, but it went so far over Touma's head that it's amazing that he even noticed it happened.

Spoiler for hmm...:

Why is this thread getting no love orz...? Mikoto was actually the first character I liked which got me hooked into TAMNI and then, learning about the side story manga, I am more obsessed with Railgun... xP

Is it me or is there like a certain uniqueness to Mikoto in a specific media... like her anime version, manga version, light novel version... of course the styles are obvious, but the personality within those styles... I might be just confusing you all, so nvm then...

I like the Biri Biri X Touma relationship, I feel that Mikoto adds something to Touma and Touma in turn gounds (pun not intended) Mikoto so she doesn't act too mighty.
Rather than the Index relationship where there's only Touma saving Index

Still, one has to respect Mikoto for what she's done, coming from level 1 all the way to level 5. Although I suspect her methods involve beating up street thugs and the 'sisters' corporation helping her along.

I feel Mikoto is by far the most interesting character in the show, because even when you strip away the powers she has the most 'real' personality, a mix of virtues and flaws: she has a sense of justice (which she can fulfill with her powers), but she's also vain and easily riled up. She has a sense of self-importance, but has very normal, typical, hobbies (like reading manga for free). And she has an admirable sense of responsiblity, but isnt mature enough to have proportion to know what is and is her fault. I felt that the Misaka arc, by far, was most interesting, especially her guilt over the Sisters. It was misplaced, over-fixated... but it was perfectly disproportionate for someone who's still a young girl in many ways. She thinks she's older/better, but she's really still a middle schooler, and that sort of attitude is just precious.

Misaka is interesting because she isn't a pushover, but isn't invincible. She can be mature, but also very much the opposite. She is very much a person who, with a little luck and good support, would grow into an admirable woman. Which is by far my favorite type of character.

Plus the fact she wears shorts is so much better than panty-shot fanservice.

I found her an insteresting character not because she is "realistic" but she has many points to her that Dean the young already pointed before me n_n;. For that reason is that I can't support her character into a shipping with Touma, they are incompatibles, maybe the reactions that Mikoto shows when she is near to Touma are sometimes funny but they're not enough to convince.

No, I know what you mean. She looks more impulsive in the anime version and a little more introspective in the manga version. However, most of these are due to events that the anime probably did not have the time to show.

This is actually the first anime pairing I support in which the characters are complete opposites with each other. They complement each other very well in many ways (not to mention that no matter how they seriously compete with each other it'll be more or less a draw).

I remain somewhat hopeful that the author would actually write the two of them together. It's ridiculously annoying to see a series keep a harem going for no other reason than fanservice. I'm actually somewhat fine with triangles, but I think harems are dumb.

I've gotten sick of harems after To-love-ru. Hopefully the author also supports Touma/Mikoto.

Being complete opposites is not a requirement to be together.... the same can be said about Touma & Index, one being irresponsable, childish(one of the few times that I see a child acting like one) and when times requires becomes very serious being a big help, the other one taking care of her and protecting the required moments(like the last events of LN). In my POV this time is not going to be another "1st girl with the main character" syndrome, and maybe the third time in my life wacthing japanesses series that I see something different again, btw the novels is not a romance series.

Is there too much material of light novels I see very hard to do that and doing it would feel forced only because... her fans want(??).
In this series aren't such thing like a serious harem it only have the only purppose to five some comedy and show how dense is Touma
......The triangles in this age have become very predictable, I can recall the most known ones who is going to be the choosen girl :S, So I refuse to see another annonying triangle or harem.

Out of curiosity, how are Misaka and Touma 'incompatible'? He might be a bit patronizing at times, but that's almost always because of the age/maturity gap. As Misaka grows up, that will disappear.

Whether you acknowledge it or not, it is still there. For the worse, imo, but it is supposed to show how many girls are infatuated with him.

Despite her own immaturities Misaka demonstrates a more mature relationship to Touma compared to others like Index, and there's more actual growth to work with as well, so them pairing up would make sense storywise.

Flirting Railgun is good doujin, but after read chapter 2 I wonder if Touma ever can kiss Mikoto since when she fought that bitch with multiple ability, Mikoto explaining she emitting electric wave around her body, so anything in her "electric radar" will detected. If Touma kiss her, that guy will be electrocuted for sure since Rail Gun emotion also affect her power
Spoiler:
while all of her body is some kind of conductor skin including her lips I suppose

Touma had better use his right hand to hold her in that case. The electricity would not flow then.

On another note, I wonder if biri biri can tap into "Radio Noise" There's not proof that she can, on the other hand, the clones are made from her so it would be funny of they can do something she can't.

And btw, she's smart, lots smarter than Touma, since she can solve problems from 2 grades higher than her level. Seems like the high level ability users all have pretty good brains installed, maybe that's a requirement for having high lv ability, brains to make calculations for their power.

So as long as his hand touch biri-biri, he can kiss her without being electrocuted?, that's strange then since Touma said him self that his other body part except his right hand is off limit (Icha2 Railgun v1) and that's including his lips offcourse
I'm confused now...OK..I'll sit down first...it's easy...*sigh*

and yes, Father told me most Human didn't use even 10% of their brain capacity, with exception of Left Handed human (they use more % but not so significant amount). So in this manga verse, all human in this Modern City been adjusted by variety of technique to force their brain to work more or at maximum so they become ability user.

I'm still fairly new to this awesome series, but is Biri Biri able to shoot two Railguns at once? Like if she used both her hands and two coins.
