Technically I think you're not supposed to use an ellipsis longer than three periods (which is what "ellipsis" means in Greek). However, as an artistic measure it can be meaningful to differentiate the particular length of a pause. The only other way to convey an appropriate pause is a hard pause of the text, which has its own problems.

I personally think Ryukishi is a bit ellipsis-heavy overall, which is saying something coming from me, as I am a terrible ellipsis-abuser myself.

If that doesn't get you past it then go to:

Set the system locale to Japanese and restart the computer.

If it still won't go past that point then uninstall the game and then reinstall it.

After that, I'm not sure what else to try. Maybe someone else here has more ideas. If it still doesn't work at least reply here with a screenshot of your Umineko folder.
Yeah, I made sure to try all that before posting here. Here's a screenshot of the folder:

Spoiler for screenshot:

Hi guize.

I'm trying to install Episode 6 on my Mac but I've ran across some problems. When the Mac installer asks me to insert the game disk, nothing happens when I do. I've tried inserting the physical disc and I've tried just mounting a ripped .iso file but nothing happens still.

Does anyone have any solution to this?

You could just copy all of the files from the disc to your computer, move all of the files from the fullsrc folder into the main episode 6 folder, and then apply the patch as normal.

They're like music videos based on each episode, one for each episode. You should watch them, they're awesome. Episode 5 Motion Graphic is a recap of the first season, and Episode 6 is based on Episode 5 of the game, just so you don't get confused.

But "applying the patch as normal" on a Mac means inserting the disc, not using the fullsrc method. Or is there another way to install the game on OS X that I'm not aware of?

You can't use the installer-free patch on Macs?

Not in a way that I know of, since it's an exe and running Umineko through CrossOver is a hassle; specially when there's an actual Mac patch available.

The same thing happened to me recently with my MacBook Pro. It turns out that my MacBook Pro's disc drive was too dusty and that stopped it from recognizing certain discs. After cleaning the drive, my MacBook recognized my discs again and let me install the game.

I'm not sure if that may be your problem, but if it is you can try wrapping a thin card of some sort (credit card, one song iTunes gift card in my case) and swipe it through a few times.

I got this advice from this article.

I don't know if this applies to any other Macs, but I hope it does/can help you. (I also hope I haven't misjudged the issue you are having and posted something completely irrelevant )

Thanks for the help, I am also on a MacBook Pro. However, my disc drive seems to be working perfecly and it does recognize the CD, so I don't think that would help at all. I will try it later though, but I'm not optimist about it. ): Thanks anyway.

What version of Mac OS X are you running? (Apple menu -> About This Mac)

What is the exact name of your Umineko 6 disc? (Highlight it in the Finder, Edit->Copy, then paste it here.)

「うみねこのなく頃に散」EP6

That's what it's called.

orz. It looks like they changed the disc name again after the first pressing.

Here's an updated installer that should work with your disc:
