To add (normally I don't post anything about JT but this took the cake):
http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/201.../#.Ub0davlmwpk

The problem is that this revelation could only exacerbate the public's negative perception on anime fans.

Analysis: Why bankrupt W.R. Grace is thriving
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/...95F06U20130616
Quote:
(Reuters) - A company stuck in bankruptcy for 12 years may not seem like much of a catch, but investors have fallen in love with U.S. specialty chemical manufacturer W.R. Grace & Co (GRA.N) and its surging sales to the energy sector.

Oldest Surviving Japanese TV Anime's Film Discovered:

"The discovery of the film for Mogura no Aventure (Mole's Adventure), the oldest
surviving Japanese television animation, was revealed on Friday. The color work
aired on NTV on October 15, 1958.

Despite being almost 55 years old, the condition of the film is good. The anime was
produced with paper cut-outs with a runtime of eight minutes, 53 seconds. It told a
humorous story of a mole named Kuro-chan who embarks on a space voyage in his
dreams. Actress Sonomi Nakajima voiced the dialogue and sang the song in the
anime."

Though not much will change on the international scene anyway.

Neither it will on the national scene, calling him a moderate is giving him way too much credit. On the iranian political fan being moderate is being far right on the occidental one.

But that's normal when half the fan is being jailed.

Actually international scene will see significant change. Perhaps they won't be able to completely return to pre-Dinner Jacket state of things, but Rouhani is a much cooler head and more sympathetic figure, which is not a good news for Pentagon hawks. As for domestically though, yes the clerical rule is safe and will likely remain so in the long term, but one would wonder why Ayatollah is giving the Greens some bone by letting Rouhani win, which he could've prevented, but perhaps not inconsequentially. Besides, he's the right guy to clean up all the mess Dinner Jacket has made.

Dick Cheney: Edward Snowden a 'traitor' who likely spied for China (+video):

"Officials and lawmakers are scrambling to explain the National Security Agency's
massive surveillance program leaked by former intelligence analyst Edward
Snowden. Many of them weighed in on the Sunday TV news shows."

If Snowden is man enough to support his claims and blow the entire extent of this scandal out without risking to be labelled a traitor or a pro-Chinese spy, he should just get his feet back to Washington and have the bloody testimony spoken out loud in front of a commission and cameras on C-SPAN.

That shouldn't be too hard if you want to leave some positive legacy, eh?

He's a "traitor" only in that he betrayed the integrity of his work for this stupid show.

I don't see why he needs to TRY leaving some positive legacy. What negative legacy does he have?
If he is a Chnese Spy, he would have disappeared by now.

How do you know this is not a stupid ruse to sneak a double agent into the chinese side?

The negative legacy would be left upon his own name and upon his own family. Can you imagine how it feels for people who are directly related to someone who's labelled/condemned as a traitor? I can only imagine how Robert Hanssen's 3 sons are feeling to have a known traitor of a father.

When you act as a whistleblower in any scandal, your credibility has to be built, rebuilt and rebuilt again before you can win your point. Things have always been that way, but Snowden has lowered his own credibility by several points on his own accord IMHO when he ran away like a coward asking for asylum in a country that is not getting good press in the West these days instead of denouncing everything on C-SPAN. I can understand to some extent why the Americans call him a defector.

Also, since Snowden is in the intelligence business, he shouldn't be naïve enough to think that he's safe from anything because he ran away to the other bloc.

Tell me you're joking. That wouldn't work, especially not with that kind of media shitstorm.

Please, who gives a damn? They will call him a traitor either way. They will call him a traitor and probably shoots him even if he wraps himself in the Star-Spanking-Flag and protests his earnest patriotism in front of the Washington Monument while giving a Lincolnesque speech.

You really fell for the propaganda backlash hook, line, and sinker.

Let me hint at something very important: it's not about the whistleblower. Repeat: it's not about the whistleblower. Everything is about the facts of what the whistleblower reveals -- the revelations, the programs, the legal overreach, the societal implications, not Mr. Snowden's hipster glasses, his redditor credentials, the spurious 3000-miles psychoanalysis attempts (fuck you, David Brooks), and his perfectly reasonable attempts to not get himself tortured and possibly murdered.

No, Edward Snowden knew his priorities -- get the facts out. He got them out. They're in sympathetic and relatively responsible hands with the Guardian newspaper of Great Britain. What the Guardian will do with them -- and what the American public will do with them -- that's what matters.

You can't really say a system administrator was actually in the intelligence business. That's why this entire thing is a farce.

You really should take a closer look at America, particularly its pillars of power, if you think he'll get anything close to a fair treatment. Just ask Bradley Manning.

That was an undisputed leak on something that is not remotely close to "privacy" rights. How can you even consider that person a suitable example?

It's not just "privacy" rights, but even if it were, how is it not remotely close? Are you saying what Manning did was worse, and that his treatment is justified? Are you implying that Snowden will get better treatment because his leaks "weren't as serious"?
