Austria was damn lucky. It doesn't matter if they "deserved" a goal for missing all those chances. Boruc played amazing and was unbeatable. Poland played better in the second half losing like that wasn't just.
The referee didn't make one error, he made two. First his decision to have Austria retake the free kick was laughable. The players were both shoving each other and the free kick was already taken. Once the referee sees that Austria didn't get a chance from it he then decides to blow his whistle and make them retake it. His second decision was again laughable. There's always shirt pulling in the box and that was hardly anything that impeded the Austria player. However, seeing this, the referee seen that Austria again had no chance to come up with anything on their own so gave them a penalty kick. Sorry, but if you miss your chances you miss your chances. If I was an Austria fan I would be ashamed of the draw. It's not the way I want to salvage a game. Getting gifts from the referee at the end of the game like that is sad. |

Felt bad for Poland, it was written "NOT AS PLANNED" all over those last minutes.
Expectation for French against Dutch = very very very low. |

French, were really awful in the opening against Romania, the Dutch will destroy them.
It was a deserved goal because the Polish goal was offside by a metre or so, the linesman was absolutely rubbish. Poland wasn't much better , how many chances did they create? Probably as much as the Austrians. |

Wow, for 2 consecutive days, 2 teams go out on a last minute penalty, both involving the co-hosts, and yet their fates couldn't have been more different.
Germany's last group game with Austria is now gonna be very difficult, now that they're buoyed by that lifesaver of a point. I do hope tonight's match between the French and Dutch will be another cracker. In the meantime, OTOH the poor Italians seem to be forgotten, even though they're still not technically out until Romania beat them. |

Preds:
Italy 2 - 0 Romania Netherlands 1 - 0 France Netherlands will qualify tonight while the last game between Italy and France will decide it all. Italy will need goals though as they are -3 at the moment which means they aren't in a position for a tiebreaker. |

Well, I can atleast cheer myself up by thinking that Xabi Alonso is close to join Juve. That should be a good reinforcement for next season in both Serie A and CL. |
