As for "after story" and after story for the anime they will not be the same. Misae, Yukine, sunohara/mei and Kappei (XD) routes have not been shown and would explain the extra amount of episodes. It is not just the orginal After Story but combined elements >.> my guess anyway as it seems sunohara is next... Why wouldn't they show the excellent other routes ^-^

I doubt KyoAni will pull off Yukine's arc.
-Compared to Kappei's route and After Story, Yukine's arc is kind of weak.
-School is already over for Tomoya.

Um, school isn't over for Tomoya... he still has half a year left. School ends in March in Japan.

And Yukine's route is far more plot-important than Kappei's route... I can definitely see them skipping over Kappei entirely, unfortunately... given that he had no appearances in the first season...

Oh
Thanks for informing me. I thought school was over for Tomoya this whole time.
Yeah, in that case, i'd agree with you. Yukine's arc definitely can be done. However, Kappei's route should be included as well. I found his story to be one of my favorites in the VN. Ryou's future as a nurse can be shown in After Story if they decided to include Kappei's route.

As good as Kappei's path was, it almost felt disjointed from the rest of Clannad where as Yukine's character felt more closer to the family theme, along with her being a female and Tomoya actually interacting with her in a closer relationship than could ever happen in Kappei's path, and don't forget she plays several small parts throughout the first season. One last thing if you've ever read the wiki then you'd know Yukine's character was meant to be one of the heroines of Clannad but for whatever reason she ended up as just a minor character. So I think believing her path was weak would be a misconception.

Also, this is a matter of opinion. To me, Yukine is one of my favorite arcs in the game, while Kappei just seemed to drag on and on...

The only reason I want Kappei's route is because of Ryou's epic, epic lines.

Oh, and Tomoya's "Sunohara molests Kappei" fantasies.

Yeah, happy Ryou - it's really wonderful. And one more thing - I think that they should show us all characters, because in every route (even if you don't like it) you will find something for yourself.

Well, it looks like we have only 18 days left to wait for After Story. I know I'm getting excited.

Are they releasing a preview DVD like last year?

Understanding the quality and awesomeness of KyoAni
Personally, I think it's safe to say that After Story > Clannad by miles

(Kappei, Sunohara/Mei, Yukine, Sanae, and After Story arcs = instant win)
+
A Kyou/Ryou OVA would be nice...

I think it's better to see them as a single works than two separate ones. After all, CLANNAD is the foundation for AS. It's inevitable that the climax will normally be more epic than the introduction, however that doesn't make the introduction any less important.

I'd have to agree with you but it's not just seeing the climax in action that excites me.

I felt that Kappei's, Sanae's, and Sunohara/Mei's to be my favorite arcs. The fact that we might even have a Kyou/Ryou OVA excites me as well.

Where has it been suggested that such is the case?

Just fan speculation. Since the 2 arcs they cut down on in the first season were Tomoyo and Kyou/Ryou and since Tomoyo had an OVA, speculation is that they'll do a Kyou/Ryou OVA.

I still think that the OVA will have a much more meaningful existance that a sidestory for some fans. Like, I think it'll be the ending of the main series plot. That is if they do the 23+1 thing again.

No they are not if they did we would have seen t already it is only a few more weeks until it is out. If they did have it would have been a prelude for sale or something even like get all Clannad DVDs and send away for special disk. But nothing >.< probably the first time ever since even AIR TV we got to see the OP and ED before the anime aired. Same went for Clannad and Kanon. Guess we have to wait 0_0 School becoming un bearable....

Yeah, but don't forget that there is Tomoyo After and no Kyou/Ryou After.

I just realized that it's only 2 more weeks before AS airs.

Will SS and Eclipse continue to do subbing work for this?
