Did I say that? No, no I did not. Please stop putting words into my mouth.

Clannad AS is KyoAni's next production. Back in March, it was decreed to be "in production".

This recent Newtype magazine proves that Haruhi 2 is still in the planning phase. Hence, it is not "in production" per se.

Now which one do you think is coming first?

There isn't anything that isn't a guess by this point.

without an official date, anything is guess, which wouldn't hurt.

I would say that guessing is different from deductive reasoning because when a person guesses, they don't have to have any evidence to support his claim.

However, when a person concludes something from deductive reasoning, that person has used resources with information given by KyoAni, and a common sense on what will benefit KyoAni economically.

Everyone wants Haruhi S2 and I'm a bit sad that KyoAni is so slow. If Haruhi S2 sucks, I'll be disappointed because Haruhi S1 is my the best anime in the world.

By technicality "Deductive Reasoning" is still "Guessing" if there's no actual evidence, assumptions can't be taken into account. But that's the term facist within me.

S2 is getting pushed alot, to create alot more hype and demand. More demand = more moneys. Volume 10 seems far too late, even with a writer's block to explain, too long for many of us.

S2 coming out next year seems likely but they might push that down with another season of CLANNAD, I don't watch it so it's a bigger loss for me :/

Clannad, thankfully, only has, at most, 24 episodes worth of material left, if that.

Haruhi will turn in to "Haruhi, best watched with 36 Episodes of another anime"

We can only hope they might actually give us a date.

If there was anything worthwhile in the article it probably would've been translated already or the extract containing the said worthwhile material at least. To my understanding it was just basically a rehashing of the 2k7 December announcement except aimed at a wider audience as only the more devoted/hardcore fans of Haruhi would've picked up on the initial December announcement.

The same lack of response kinda happened with the Clannad interview in Dengeki as well, presumably for the same reason, a lack of worthwhile material to translate as it didn't really provide any worthwhile new information. Just that theres gonna be a TV sequel to which we already know, as was seen with the trailer at the end of the 1st season. (here and here)

Judging from whatever info we got in that July issue of Newtype, we might or won't be getting Haruhi season 2 until Spring '09 at the earliest. Seems like Clannad will start to air either this summer or fall. Its kind of weird for Kyoto animations to not air something for the Spring season...they must be planning something to get around with their fans enjoyment...they still got the Full Metal Panic! novels to even animate...I bet the FMP fans are already eager to see an announcement on a new season more than us.

it is reasonable to keep secret now for the sake of dvd sales.

which means kyoani need to wait until after last clannad dvd is out (07/16)
and near when lucky star ova is out (09/26).

this will prevent the news to lower sales of last clannad dvd
and to boost sales of lucky star ova.

  • CLANNAD Blu-ray box planned to come out in September
  • Kanon Blu-ray box planned to come out in August
LE will come with HD version of "Follow to after story"
That proof enough for ya? As for how official it is, please check the parent thread of the above quote.
