first post i guess? ^^"
well then, i must say : your clamp and kagami signatures cought my attention quite well. the BG is well worked, and it does suit the character type (considering this is clamp, it is hard to apply something except feathers, and various shoujo stuff). it is a bit too bad that the edge of the pic itself is a big too rhough. but i think you will get the trick pretty soon. as for Kagami sig, i think the purp is a bit too rhought, in contrast with the bright blue. i think you should change them, so that they would join slightly the middle color range of them. (hard to explain, heh ~~) Kagami font isn't bad at all, however, the edge is jagged, an di'm wondering why

Very nice vector bg. I would bring down the mid tone about 10 points and the dark tone 5 points on the render herself just to bring back a little bit more definition on her face and hair. What really stands out is the text. It's not as sharp as the render or bg. You might want to change out the text mode from maybe none to sharp or strong to closely match the bg and render. As for your avatar, again, using levels or brightness contrast, try to match the render of the avatar to the render of the sig and you'll have a solid set. Great job.

Okay here is the revised Kagami sig. I tried to do the things everyone gave pointers on. Well cept maybe the text cuz GIMP has very little text customizability. =__=
and it doesn't have the ability to emboss IE bevel and Emboss like PS all mine has is shadow and bevel. Well here: Here is my rework of the Avy and the sig ^^

Yo bigdave, I just send you a PNG version of the Kagami trace. Hope that helps with the rough edges issue.
As for the sig themselves... I prefer the second version, The font is also better in the second. A little too big, IMO. You also went a little bit overboard with the size and dimensions; A height of 122 pixels is quite inconvenient for people that like to put text out of their sigs. >_< !!

Ice>> Hmmm really So if its over 400px width then u can't write any text?
I always thought as long as the height is 120px or below that u could put text in ur sig? Well I will change the size then if thats the case.
