Thus ends arc 4. Next week is only Cato's Notes.
I need to do some worldbuilding for Arc 5. On the other hand, I may have another project to showcase. It's much rougher and less planned than this but let's take RRL as a testbed to see if the idea can work. Don't worry, I write Hero's War mainly and side projects basically fill time I wouldn't spend writing Hero's War anyway.

Cross posting from RRL. A special bonus... (I wouldn't put this as part of the main story segments, unlike the more 'official' Cato's Notes. You can think of it as the sort of thing that appears in the afterword)

Unfortunately, due to aforementioned flaw in his lifeforce, Cato can't actually use magic.
There are reasons for this that will become key towards the end of the story, but until then it's just a strong reason that avoids turning Cato into "just another Hero" like Morey.

Well he does not really need magic to defend itself at the moment , for all we know he may have a monoshot little hidden~gun or maybe a basilar flash/gas grenade he can use to run away. He will surely have prepared some gimmick after the last encounter with a magician.Even an anti rape spray would work for him since it is not like he is going to war at the moment.

You mean Feudalism? Inath is a federation slapped on top of a feudal structure. With a hereditary aristocracy, but the nobles here aren't a warrior nobility so it's not a classic feudalistic structure.
Also a military that is mostly made up of adventurer-soldiers has no real world analogue, mercenary companies comes the closest but even they are too big compared with Inath's individualistic groups. For good reason of course, but this comes from my extrapolations from a world with easily learnt and highly destructive magic.
