Interesting that Sharley was Arlong's older sister. Wonder how Shirahoshi already knew the truth. Looks like Neptune isn't going to make it. Lol Vander Decken has completely lost it, that is a dangerous thing to throw. I wonder if the giant ship relates to the poneglyph.

The most recent episode was quite eventful. Still no signs of the Strawhats, but it seems like Fishmen Island is screwed in every way possible.
Back to Jimbei versus Luffy argument, if Jimbei was stronger than Luffy, he would not have been caught so easily. Also, I base Luffy strength on his ability to defeat Vice Admirals before time skip. Hence, post time skip, he should be Admiral level. Also, why did Jimbei even take Shirahoshi towards the plaza in the first place? That's like gifting her to them even though he knew they wanted her. We're at our most critical point, so I expect Luffy and the crew to finally make an appearance. Also, I'm also expecting them to finally show their full post time skip training abilities, which will be exponentially better than anything shown thus far.

Shirhoshi totally fell for a stupid trap.
Good thing she wasn't alone. Hordy.... what a monster he's become. Flashback to Otohime's death was quite interesting. Looks like Hordy had everyone fooled. Decken lost it too. Totally blinded by Shirahoshi's rejection.

And about Luffy being admiral level just because he beat vice-admirals pre-timeskip. First of...the difference between an admiral and a Vice-admiral has been shown to be huge, not something that Luffy should be capable of reaching in just the two years in the island. Also, in the middle of the mess that was the war, Luffy didn't exactly wtfpwn any vice-admiral (Garp aside but we all know Garp let him) and had a ton of help. Like I said before, if anything Luffy should be around Ace's level. Even Marco, who was pretty much WB's second in command, was only able to handle Kizaru for only a bit before getting his ass kicked. If Luffy was admiral level he'd be pretty much one of the strongest characters in One Piece, we're around the halfway point in the story, it's just bad story telling to have Luffy, who has been growing till now, suddenly be one of the top strongest. |

So much filler
Am I the only one who is getting so sick of how little they show in each episode. 10 minutes of the 20 minute episode is dedicated to crowd reactions and dust settling and 5 minutes is dedicated to the OP and recap. I know the anime is relatively close to the manga but at this point I'd rater see a filler arc for Christ's sake.

Yes, it'll be hard to fit in a filler arc after the FI arc is done, the best they could do is something along the lines of the Water 7 filler (like the Mamma Zoro episode), a couple of episodes with with contained and individual plots.

Also, now that 100,000 of Hody's men are gathered, I bet that Luffy will break his previous record of defeating 10,000 men. Quote:

Well, basically, in this arc really gauging Luffy & Co's strength is pretty hard considering the level of opponents they are facing. To put it simply had they gone to FI before the time-skip they would have struggled hard but still managed to accomplish about the same things.
It's obvious that the two strongest shown beings in FI right now aside from the SHs are Jinbe and Super Sayan Hodi. While Jinbe is known to be strong, we've only seen SSJ Hodi take down pretty much fodder characters, so to truly see how strong Luffy is we would need either a stronger enemy to appear or have Luffy SERIOUSLY fight Jinbe (as opposed to the little skirmish they had where neither was serious and Jinbe somewhat dominated). But since they are allies and apart now, Jinbe vs Luffy will not happen any time soon. Spoiler for next arc:

Love how the straw hats always make a great entrance. Was Luffy really hiding in Megalo the whole time?, that's something he would do. Now we get to see everyone's results from training with the start of the battle.

Great build up episode. Next episode cannot come soon enough. Yes, One Piece has been dragging the past couple of years since they adopted the 1 episode = 1 manga chapter approach. If I remember correctly from others, isn't the manga 1 year ahead of the anime? That would mean at least 52 chapters ahead. They could at least adopt a 1.5 manga chapters = 1 anime episode approach, and have a mini filler arc in between.
Anyway, Hody's truly evil nature has fully shined in this episode. He deserves death, but somehow, I bet he will be spared that ending. Next episode is finally when the Straw Hats show their awesome abilities. 100,000 enemies? No problem. I bet things will be going great until the giant Ark from Decken comes into play. At which point, I believe Shirahoshi's often mentioned special ability will come into play.

Hordy finally confessed murdering Otohime.
Shirahoshi's statement was even more shocking. That girl sure has a big heart, just like her mother did.. Wow! Luffy's arrival sure was kinda LOL, but his actions were oh so very serious! Straw Hats sure know how to make an entrance! Finally!!

Yeah, for now will just have to endure the slow pace of the 1=1 conversion. Unfortunately not much they can do until the crew hits the New World and can then jump into a filler arc.
Regardless the end of the episode had a great feeling to it. Now I'm really looking forward to the next one. The crew is ready to just unleash their new skills on this massive army. Pretty entertaining that Luffy just forced his way out and then owned Hody in one shot. If he thought an underwater attack from Zoro hurt, can't wait to see how he handles more attacks from Luffy . Will say that Shirahoshi hung in there fairly well all things considered. Only really lost it when her family was about to get executed. What a crazy person though, forcing herself to follow a promise like that.

Still think she was stupid...she kept a promise and didn't tell on Hody and what did that accomplish? Nearly everything in this arc could have been avoided had she told her father the truth and they caught Hody before he became a threat.
