But getting the beach intermission over with early (and possibly explaining Cryska's Alternative III backstory going by a preview screenshot) means more uninterrupted serious fighting drama later, right?

I think putting beach episodes as a break after some big event is better. Non-stop high tension serious fighting can be tiring after a while.
Plus, I heard there are other characters that will get introduced later. This means we won't be seeing them in swim suits since I doubt we will get another beach episode.

I guess I can't really blame the anime for this since the beach event is in the original sources and I heard the anime is already rushed to reach the good stuff.

The series is not licensed; however, it is streaming on Cruchyroll, so that is why you will not find a listing.

So there isn't a american distribution company which will be selling the BD's/Dubbing it? Hopefully this anime sells 20,000 BD's in Japan and then a company licenses this anime in the US for home entertainment and what not release.

Then they'll butcher it with the English Dub voices.

...which would be irrelevant because the discs will almost certainly have Japanese voices and sub-track on it, as nearly all do. The dubs, when they exist, are almost always just an optional feature for those who like it.

(An argument as old as time itself revives yet again in a random location... )

At least you HAVE the choice. Anything Japanese shown here is butchered by the same godawful dub cast that seems to have been unchanged from the 1990s. Hence, dub vs sub.

That said not all dubs are bad - Full Metal Alchemist had a good cast, IIRC, as did Cowboy Bebop, and of course there's Ghost in the Shell.

The few good doesn't really balance out the bad majority.

it's not about balance, it's about enjoying what you can.

For Yui, Mai Tokiha's Carol-Anne Day/Mai Nakahara combo or Nagisa Furukawa's Mai Nakahara/Deunan Knute combo seems OK to me.

Yeah, but good dubs are few and far in between

I don't really know why dubs are on-topic in this thread anyway. If the show gets licensed (at least in North America/Europe), we don't even know if there will be a dub -- many shows are licensed sub-only these days. If we find out the show gets licensed and there will be a dub, people can express their concerns about that then if they really have to.

(Personally, except in the rare case where you have no choice, I don't see why people don't just ignore them if it bothers them so much...)

If there's anything I learned from working in the real world, it's that people will tend to complain about the smallest things that wouldn't even be a big deal at all if they just shut their traps. But hey, I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion, right?

I wonder how the fanbase will react to a 4Kids version of Total Eclipse.

Luckily, they will not need to. 4Kids has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and is unlikely to produce anything ever again.

However, I would absolutely welcome a Bluray release for Muv-Luv, as long as they don't alter and censor the product.
