also, if you're confusing this, the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi 2013 was in 2012.
They just titled it like that
the one coming up soon is Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi 2014
they give it the title of the year after

I think it is you who is having an issue with Touma being an uber-awesome 'hero', despite being just an ordinary guy. Do people still think Touma a Gary Stu kind of guy, again?

However, I don't think Mikoto is anything close to perfect either.

no i believe the majority likes kamijou, but due to the fact that he resembles a bit of a cliche hero in some areas(people well believe hes a gary-stu despite the fact that 90-95% of kamijou character does not resemble one).

I see your point, it certainly adds weight to your argument. However, I'll still hold on to my perception of it as an esper power. This is primarily because of the magnitude of calculations it takes to get all of that information from the environment and come up with an accurate prediction as an outcome. This is more based on my hopes and dreams as a fan than real logic so I can't really support it. It kind of takes me back to the discussion between Touma and Index about prediction of the weather being kind of inaccurate even with all of the information they have. Although your sources are something for me to think about in the future. Thanks for taking the time to show me that.

Now that I think of it after reading some posts. Pre-memory loss Touma was a lot more whiney wasn't he? He did seem a lot more conscious of the limits of his imaginebreaker than post memory loss Touma.

Pre-memory loss Touma was also a normal guy who was shunned and physically attacked for being different. Before going to academy city not only did the Imagine Breaker cause him misfortune, but those around him as well. This hasn't quite been explained yet but I'm pretty sure that would be a bad experience for a kid. Just when he finally decided to do what he could he "dies" and Post memory loss Touma was born. I'm sure that the past experience with all of that happening around him caused Touma to dislike his Imagine Breaker a bit.

You know I got thinking after reading that post, Misaki might reconnect Touma with his old self and his old memories (at least in part)... and bring on some interesting character development as he forced to face his old self and character.

Seems like she's being assertive to bring Touma back to her, trying very hard to bring back his lost memories and his past personality.

Reconnecting his past self will be very interesting, somehow.
