Considering the budget is probably not that big. I don't really mind whichever studio it is, as long they don't put any garbage "original" content in it.
I really hate those "original content" garbage, it basically destroy the story and most of the time, the chance of sequel.

Not sure you can call it filler, filler is unrelated to the main story and doesn't change or have much impact to it. This one basically change it and most of the time screw it over. Other than anime original content, probably alternative story/ending, or something like that.
And yeah, it needs the author permission to create an anime but the content is usually depend on how much the involvement of the author is. If the author leave it all to the studio, either forced to or voluntarily, then it usually sucks.

That is if the original source of the story (in deathmarch case the LN) already ended and very good enough to be remade. |

In terms of Light Novel adatations I would actually prefer they do it. Kyoto Animation doesn't do these kind of series. A1 has more experience with the genre with things like Sword Art Online and Grimgar of Ashes and Fantasy, but this is the same studio that can put out atrocities like Asterisk War. Sunrise would be interesting given their work with Accel World, but there are no mechas in this series so that's a far shot. That said, I'm still peeved they decided to animate this instead of Mushoku Tensei. Someday...

^^True, but not exactly realistic. Even if by some chance there's a miracle and it got a reboot, it'll still leave a bitter taste anyway.
^I'm pretty sure Shana is J.C. Either way, even though they're both from Kadokawa, Mushoku and Death March are from different publisher after all. Death March LN sales also pretty good, so it's not really an out of the blue decision.

If you just want a weak one, that guy from Road to Kingdom is basically just Guys without his magic sword and armour.

I think A1 did a decent adaptation of Asterisk Wars, not their fault that the source material is kinda mediocre. Sunrise has a lot of different studios actually. Their Studio 8 is the one responsible for some of my favorites (My Hime, Horizon, Accel World) and nothing on Gundams. Unfortunately their Love Live is such a huge success that that's all we'll probably see from Studio 8 for the next decade. I'm prepared for a horrible adaptation of Death March, but seeing an animated Pochi, Tama, Liz and Zena will be worth it. |
