I don't think you need to show a scene to say X dislikes smoking.

Spoiler for Cut scene and a bit of implied spoilers:
well they can always include that later on, it's not like it's that important to be there now... as long as something like that happens before.. well before the scene that needs it

How would Battler know it if it's not shown? For that matter, how would the viewer?

Yeah, it's not that big of a deal if it's mentioned later, but...

They could put that in another scene. Shouldn't take more than 10 seconds to show that Eva can't stand smoking.

EDIT: I'd remove the spoilers for now.

Actually, this discussion should probably be in the spoilers thread.

"Beatrice" sounds like Lust.

SHEE YOU AGIN was hilarious, but too bad gg are trollsubs and refuse to sub Engrish literally.

Ronove is hot.

Core is an awesome track.

9/10

Can't wait for next episode.

That is all.

The last lines that Shannon says before Battler shouts it's embarassing.

They translated it as "au revoir".

Engrish has this tendency to become French when localized, to keep the foreign thing going, right? ...But subbing and localizing are different, and... bah.

...For serious trollsubs, check out what they did to the ED theme this episode.

Hmn, I guess it's keeping the context that Battler spouts out embarassing "foreign" lines 6 years ago.

I'd have gladly put it in a translation note to differentiate though.

The normal practice is either to transliterate it in all caps, like "SHEE YUU AGIN" or put special quotes around it, like << see you again >>.

The French DOES work, it's just... not what I expected.

SACRIFICE A SHEEP TO GOD
According to Japanese blogs, those are the official lyrics.

"TL Note: See you again is in Engrish but we put French here to keep it foreign." = Dumb

You can't get more Pheonix Wright then that last scene between Battler and Beatrice. The music was so similar to a few pieces from the first game.

Awesome demon butler called Ronove voiced by Sugita Tomokazu is awesome, and i wish Battler would act the way he did six years ago.

Fantastic episode deserving of the Ep that most people who played the game loved the most. I suspect Ryukishi and DEEN took notice of this and decided to save their effort for the episode if not the arc. I'm hoping this amount of consistency will be kept throughout the rest of the season.

The Bad:

1. As some have stated previously, there was indeed a scene that was omitted after I checked my notes. It's a pretty minor event overall but it's sort of critical to Battler. Considering how tightly made this episode was I'm assuming that it wasn't an oversight, so it being missing is probably intentional.

The Good:

1. This is probably the most tightly and consistently produced episode of the series so far. I can tell that they put a good amount of effort into the episodes. The transitions were fluid, the pacing was just right, the right amount of repetitive scenes were omitted and it ended on a real cliffhanger. I guess DEEN and Ryukishi planned this episode (and probably the rest of the arc) very well in advance.

2. The animation was kicked up a good notch in terms of consistency. BRonove looks completely suave, mini-Beatrice is pedobear approved in all the wrong levels and "Beatrice" exumes complete elegance.

3. I liked how Eva's flashing of her youth self was handled. In the VN it tends to be abrupt with Eva seemingly going into a soliloquey(sp?) but here the fact that she reacts at hearing a voice in her head and shock tells a lot about her state of mind.

--------

Nothing to hate and almost everything to love. If they can do the same for the rest of the season I can easily forgive any and all shortcomings of the previous 2 arcs combined.
