any way to navigate to homepage?

is there any way to get back to animesuki.com while you are browsing the forums? like a link someplace? i find it a pain in the ass sometimes to hit "back" 15 times or to retype the address

thanks

It's a common design problem of forums that the link back to the main page is often somewhat hidden. That's at least my impression.

I had never actually used it before since I usually type in URLs. It took me all of five seconds to find. I wouldn't really call that hidden.

But you don't type in the URL to get back to the forum top level, do you? That would at least be very unusual. Well, and that's exactly the point. I'm talking about page design here and not some test if you have ADD. When a large fraction of users (including you and me) don't bother to use the link because it takes those critical 5 seconds to find it then you can call it "somewhat hidden".

The link there is a result of the forum settings (things like "contact us" mailto and stuff like that). As far as vBulletin is concerned that's normally a link towards some politically correct main page for "the company" of 60yar' ol geezers, not as is the case for us a high traffic index.

Long story short: its not meant to be part of the navigation, its only purpose is to be mentioned.

I've never noticed that link before. I too had been wondering how to get back to the main page without having to retype the address.

Yeah, I was gonna mention this since the very beginning. I mean, if you have a direct link to the main page, why not just click on that again?

I don't know much about vBulletin coding, but in Wordpress it's pretty easy to modify toolbars like the one at the top to include additional links. But what do I know.

Look again, the link is there. If you are thinking of homepage as "forum home", just click the banner at the top. As for how easy it is, yes you just have to modify the base theme and it should filter into the others provided the template was not modified in them.

Let's clear things up a bit since it is a bit vague what the opening post is actually asking.

If you want a link back to the main AnimeSuki.com torrent site, then it can be found at the bottom right hand corner of any forum page.

If you want a link back to the AnimeSuki forum front page, then you just need to click on the banner at the head of any forum page.

It can be added to the navbar/breadcrumb pretty easily. So as not the crowd it up it can be put in the Community menu. But If people want to visit the site frequently, they have their browser bookmarks.

What Xris said could also be added to the FAQ too.
