Gotta go so just some quick point observations to be edited on a later date:

Spoiler for Episode 6:

Also, people are speculating the recap was placed there to cover up for scenes they couldn't air on TV: Yoko and the K girls bath scene.

Does that mean that we could probably get to see those scenes in the DVD version?

Just what i was thinking --- work make for a perfect extra. Also, make sense that they'd add flashback scenes for that.

Second that. The whole ep felt extremly broken and incomplete - and this explanation is a perfect fit.
I thought nothing could be worse than episode 4 - now I can tell that I was mistaken.
They shouldn't have aired this castrated version, and just made it a DVD special.
If anyone hasn't watched it yet - I recommend not to do it and either wait for the normal version or just skip it altogether.
P.S. the new beastman reminded me of the monsters from Cutey Honey series.

I agree, the recap after the eye-catch felt like it wasn't planned at all... just pasted over something to make time and keep the show on the running estimates. They couldn't have done a DVD special, though; it's important to the plot even if minimally.

Yeah, the recap parts sort of ruined what could have potentially been a really entertaining episode, even if the plot basically didn't progress at all.

In the preview for ep. 7, I thought I saw a censored scene at 24:20, particularily the way Simon was drawn. What do you guys think?

This episode was pretty good and fast, as how it should be.

though i've been enjoying this series a lot, i strongly disliked this episode. the execution simply fell flat for me, especially with the disjointed recap sequences. my enthusiasm began to flag through the onsen-fanservice/madcap-action until
Spoiler:
so, now i'm looking forward to the next episode just as much as if i had loved this one.

OH NO!!!

Now you've done it. You've complained about the fan service in a Gainax series. The anime gods are currently smiting scores of cat and bunny girls. The Land of Android Maids will be subjected to forty days and forty nights of rust promoting rain. And worst of all, you've jinxed Yoko!

Everyone was so good for so long. What hell will poor Yoko be subjected to for this terrible transgression?

Edit: LOL. I forgot why I came into the thread in the first place. 4chan's Anonymous has posted his speed sub.

it's not the presence of fanservice that turned me off to this episode, because there's been plenty of it thus far, and this episode was a long time in coming. rossiu's constant repetition of "this is suspicious" and "this is very suspicious" and "this is too suspicious" and so on was great, as was the concept of the gunman. i just wasn't seduced by the actual execution of what should have been extremely successful elements.

The flashbacks are not that bad ... when you have read beforehand they are going to take 10+ minutes and can skip them without feeling any guilt.
The episode itself was great though.
