No worries you're not the only one who thinks that. I've never really had an interest in trying beer or wine. I do like cocktails or coolers though, but it's not very often that I have any.

I've taken my first step into unfamiliar territory... ahhhh it feels weird!
Well you have come to a good place to post at least my friend! I hear you, I am the same way, I don't usually like posting unless I have something to say, usually I just read what other people post. It can be intimidating when a bunch of people can read what you say.

But those aren't really good reasons to drink alcohol, and I am pretty sure that second part is very rarely true. Most people I know who drink are like it tastes like shit and you will probably hate it but drink it a lot and get use to it and its okay. I will agree with your first part though, it seems like a lot of marketing and advertising.

Because alcohols and cigarettes are for grown ups !!!
At least that's the stigma around me...

I am in the neutral camp on alcohols. Dont particular love it or hate it. I only drink on special occasion (like when my friend pays the whole bottle, or when family gathers around)...

Alcohol does taste pretty shitty. Last time I drank I threw up as a result, ever since then thinking or imagining the taste of alcohol makes me feel sick. I had super low tolerance, so it was my fault for drinking, but man it sucked.

Then you better stay away from Sumeragi. She might just force alcohol down you and do all sorts of things while you are K.O.

Much even more if you are Korean and younger than her.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

I should, if she tells me to drink I pretty much have to obey her.

I'd be careful. His complex for younger, not-so-legal women might reverse itself while he's drunk...

Same here. Even though I rarely drink (only when socially required, a mere 4-6 times a year ), I've also lost track of how many times I've tried alcoholic drinks (mostly wine, beer and brandy) - yet I never figured out the appeal over the terrible taste. I've never gotten drunk either; so maybe that has something to do with it.

Don't worry, you'll get over it. I think. When I was new here, I couldn't imagine myself posting in a thread like this. Now here I am shamelessly posting replies in a thread full of strangers from all over the world.

Anyway, I believe this thread was designed to help break the ice between forum members, so just make yourself at home.

Ask TRL. If Sume-nee is coming along I'll give it a miss.

He knows all the beer places.

I hardly go pubs, so you have to ask the others.
