Don't think the first Extra manga ever really got past the first couple of chapters, so I'm wary to pick up any new Fate manga nowadays until it shows it'll continue being translated.

In the midst of a new interview with Aksys posted on Siliconera, the subject of whether or not they will handle Fate/Extra CCC was raised. (Un)surprisingly, a straight answer was not on the cards:

So... you worked on Fate/Extra and I heard that Fate/Extra CCC was being shopped around to publishers… can you say if Aksys is working on this at all?

Hmm… I heard about the game and it was released in Japan. Fate/Extra is a great game and I highly recommend everybody pick it up, but don’t start with Caster unless you like frustration for the first hour of the game. And my answer is: yes, I like curry very much.

Sounds like a yes to me, but a yes that they cannot say yet either due to the contract not being done, the contract not letting them announce until a certain time, or them not being far enough in terms of work progress to start getting people hyped.

Basically, it didn't read as a normal "No answer", but more of a coy misdirect.

In Fate/Extra Material, supposedly there are other Sakura clones that didn't make it into CCC.

It has been stated that they will be in the new spinoff manga, Fate/Extra CCC Fox Tail. Raws for the first two chapters are already out.

Kind of feel bad for pretty well resurrecting such an old thread, but I did just get Fate/Extra off the PSN.....so the desire to talk about it is still fresh for me . Still, apologies for anyone who expected something actually relevant and/or about CCC.

This was just pretty fun to play through. Enough so that I pretty well couldn't stop playing after I got it until I made it through Saber's route. Still two more servants to have fun with, so some fun left there.

The battle system definitely was a mix. Not bad in a sense. You can grind through regular enemies enough to pick up enough of their moves and can get enough for the bosses to make it through them.

Spoiler for Story:

Story wasn't too bad. Sure you often had to go through the same kind of thing, but they did manage to make the different opponents stand out in their own way. The satisfaction of beating Shinji (until you realize the kid was actually 8....oops), the stoic defeat for Dan, the kind of messed up loneliness for Alice, etc. There were only a few I felt bad that I had to bring down. And then there were some I was glad to defeat like the psycho clown girl.

Knowing what happens to the person you don't save, it's going to be tough for me to not save Rin in future playthroughs. It's just easier to sacrifice a character you don't know that well than well...Rin.

At least the ending has a kind of nice bittersweet aspect to it. Sure the character you were doesn't survive, but at the same time the guy still lives in a sense. He'll just have to start fresh like he did in this game.

I just wish there were more interaction scenes with the servants. Only one or two a week felt too little. Sometimes I just wanted to burn through the next opponent quickly so I could see what Saber had to say next.

On that note Saber was pretty awesome. Never would have expected Nero to be such a cool servant, but there you have it. A good reminder that you have to look past the simple explanation from history. The reality of things can be more complex even if a lot of the facts are accurate in an objective sense. She was just really likable and I was glad to have her along for the ride. Not even picking her because she was the easiest servant to start with, but rather just because she was a fun person.

The whole thing wasn't perfect, but easily worth $10.

The only tragedy here is now having that desire for CCC . Not sure how heavily I should look into all the material surrounding it. Maybe will just have fun with the remaining servants I have left to play through the game with and be satisfied with that.

If you're interested in CCC, I can point you towards a blog where someone is translating (even though it's not complete) the game who's playing as the Female MC and the servant being Gilgamesh.
