^That seems to be correct. I winged the route just a couple hours ago and made almost the exact same choices.

Since I usually don't read guides, I didn't even know that this route existed until a few days ago.

I thought it ended after the laser tag game since there seemed to be no way for me to beat Akio.

The route was surprisingly fun. I didn't think Tomoya would do so bad at bat but he pulled through in the end as always. The ending was a bit too brief and a bit depressing for me though. But since it's a sidestory I guess that shouldn't matter too much.

Massive lulz at Yusuke's role in the game. That speech was probably the best part of the route.

I just finished a few, and I realize that there doesn't seem to have an indicator of the number of orbs I got.

I assume that there is no basis to worry, I should carry on my playing even if I don't have an indicator of past collected orbs?

Or am I supposed to see those orbs floating in some screen? I can faintly see a few near the lower left border of the screen but I'm not sure if those are what I think they are...

These brilliant spheres on the bottom left on the main title menu are indeed the light orbs you collected so far.

So I'm following the 300 hour guide and saved on May 11th and finished the route for Tomoyo. I went through everything until I eventually finished Koumura's route. Why is it that even though I have his orb, I can't get a 64 hit combo? Was I supposed to not finish Tomoyo's route to get her perfect combo?

You might have missed a flag for some characters in your tomoyo's route, before you save. Each "wave" will increment the combo by 8 hits, so 8 occurances must happen.
Tomoyo, Tomoya, Kyou, Fuuko, Misae, Yukine, Akio, Koumura.

if one is missing, the combo won't be the perfect score of 64. Play back the scene and check who is missing among the string of the combo.

I checked it again and I'm missing Fuuko and Misae. I was using the 90 hour guide when I first started which is on the third page of the Clannad Q & A page. What flags are necessary to get them?

For Misae, you must talk to her each time you can, but decline the offer of coming back to her room (if you got it).
As for Fuuko, Tomoya has to snatch her her knife and met her again afterwards, so he knows her name and will bump on her occasionally.

Since the XBOX360 version of CLANNAD is coming out within a month or 2, anyone want to take a guess at the possible achievements? They definitely have to put the "Fuko Master" ones in as achievements!

This is a great community, I've been prowling these forums for a while now, and after reading some good feedback on Clannad I went out and got it. Im really impressed with this game, but having never played a Key game before I was expecting a happy-easygoing-feel-good-game. I was way off! Here's my first impressions after playing Kyou's arc if anyones interested.

I began playing Clannad about a week and a half ago and enjoyed its upbeat atmosphere and the characters you get interact with. It seemed like a really easygoing game. Although there are some elements I didnt like (youre an ass to your best mate, and you can be quite thick at times, as well as Kyou's throwing crap all the time at you and Sunohara), I began playing one or two days in the game each day, and of all the characters, I liked Kyou's 'on the level' attitude the most and decided to focus on her. After a non-ending trying to chase her, I decided to use iamandragon's walkthrough, and thought that Kyou's pathway would be upbeat and fun, just like her character. Thats what I expected at least, like I said, I thought this was a nice, easy going game. But I was wrong - TERRIBLY WRONG! Kyou's bloody pathway was sad and confusing, nothing I expected, and ended up making me feel depressed and awful for days!

Although it is just a game, I usually empathise with characters in books, games, and movies to the point of rewatching or rereading the emotionally heavy or plot important parts to make sure I get the full impact or effect of what is being shown. Although in the end, the ending is a happy one, the confusion and torment of Tomoya, Kyou, and of course Ryou throughout the larger part of the second half really tainted the happy ending, and I didnt feel happy at all, but terrible for them. It was a really sad pathway where you are torn between the twins - committed to Ryou, but wanting Kyou and all the while watching her hurt because she wants you too. With Kyou as one of the stronger more decisive characters throughout the story, it was kinda unnerving to see her in so much pain because of her feelings for you. Throughout the latter half she is constantly bottling up her sadness whenever you and Ryou are around, and when she couldnt hold it all in and confesses her regret at allowing you to be with her sister you feel all the more worse. You really felt bad Kyou, at the mess she had helped to create, and at the situation you were in where nothing you could do would be an easy fix.

In order to break the stalemate and be with who you truly wanted to be with you had to hurt Ryou, and with her passive and shy personality, you of course expect that this will destroy what little self esteem she has in herself. Its also made harder because Ryou is a genuinely nice girl in the story. lol it wasnt a fun pathway at all, it was terrible! In saying that though, Key did a fantastic job at portraying the scenario in all its awkwardness and painfulness, it was excellent. Even though I know Nagisa's route is supposed to be the main one, the twists involving Kyou as well as the character development of Ryou made this feel like it was the flagship of all the arcs, it seemed so well thought out and orchestrated I kinda wished I played it after a less intense arc. Also, its weird playing a different arc when Kyou and Ryou seem to be heavily involved in the other arcs regardless, because now you know where they stand in regard to your character. I guess though if I played another arc first, I'd probably find myself saying this exact same thing.

I've since started playing Tomoyo's route in the meantime hoping for an easygoing upbeat path, without the confusion and torment of being torn between the Fujibayashi twins. Well anyway, like I said, I thought itd be a happy easygoing game but I was way off. Regardless, its an excellent and well thought out game. What did you guys think of this arc? Which arcs did you enjoy the most?

I don't know if this was posted earrlier but I have a question about the walkthrough if somebody could possibly answer.

When I first started Clannad I did the tomoyo route without the walkthough, got it completlely done, light and all. Then I read your walkthrough and it says you can get another option at the end of Tomoyo's route (help is the option)as long as you've done Misae's route first, and Misae's Light orb thing.

After reading that I went and did Misae's Route and loaded a save in Tomoyo's route to see if i would get the extra option and Misae's light orb, but I didn't.

Does this mean I cant get that now unless i completely erase my saved games and start all over or no? Or Do I just need to redo all of Tomoyo's Route from the beggining?

It's a question, so it's fine. My fault for posting the walkthrough in the game.
The reason that you can't collect Misae's light even if you have fullfilled all the requirement is probably that you have already got it--you only get to see the collection of each light once.

There is another reason you might miss Misae's Light orb: if in your Tomoyo's route, Tomoya didn't interact whenever he can with Misae, you cannot get her light.
Might erase to attempt this, but I saw many people without being able to get Misae's light until they redo completely tomoyo's route.

Yes, that might also be the case. If you follow the 90hours walkthrough, there should be no problem--I used it myself as well and I got all the lights with no problem at all.

I also just now finished Kyou's route and I admit it was very sad at the end(what did they do to her awesome hair?!). But I found it still to my liking. It seems you can't really have a great ending with it just involving only happy moments, you have to add in some sad parts and I think thats what makes the game so damn addictive and great.

I've only played 4 routes so far and Kyou and Tomoyo's are 2 of them and I still love the Tomoyo Route the best so far and unless something really grabs my intrest I don't see that changing. Something about her character just appeals to people much more then others(probably why they made Tomoyo after which I pray I can play with a translation some day as I only know english). Anyways i think you'll enjoy it at least as much as I did.

Is it true that if you play Kotomi's route after completing everyone else's route, you'll get extra jokes from Kotomi? Saw it on one of the -chan boards and I'm wondering if it's true.

Also, I got the title Fuko Master and Ninja, but what does it mean that Fuko appears like a ninja in Tomoyo's route?

Nothing really...just a title to reward that you have completed all pranks on Fuuko.

No, basically Fuuko will make some nonsensical intrusion in Tomoyo's route, much like how it was in episode 12.
And seriously, Fuuko has some talents to appear in the worst moments possible ever

Thanks Tempest, so far the Tomoyo route has been really good, she's a bit more likable since when Tomoya first meets her. I can see why her route is your and alot of other's favourite.

And yeah i know! Kyou's hair looked awesome, why'd she cut it for?! Youre right about the sad parts making the game addictive and interesting, but I would have liked to have seen more of Tomoya and Kyou talking and interacting as a couple earlier on or for longer at the end (say for a day or two, so you can see how compatible they are with one another), rather than just a glimpse at the end. Have fun with the other routes!

I missed this part in the page:

So that means we're getting new CGs, though if it will replace everything is another story. To be honest though, considering that Itaru's style has greatly changed in the last four years, it's very likely all of them will be replaced.
