Not really bad news, they applied for a government funded initiative thats intended to promote the polish creative industry =s

So did a bunch of other polish game developers too, so it cant really be seen as a sign of any financial trouble. Rather they're taking advantage of a scheme aimed at their industry that could give a free boost in funds, which could be used to improve or implement the features stated in their application.

-redacted-
It's a good thing they're going to take their time, because Mr. Pondsmith and his crew at R. Talsorian Games published a lot of relevant material over the years for CDPR to build on (two sourcebooks which immediately come to mind are the ones dedicated to Night City proper, and the US as a whole)... which makes me wonder how far the game's AO will extend beyond Night City. And since this is 2077, whether or not anything from Cybergeneration will find its way in is a good question.

As a whole it does look nice, however the gunplay seems to leave a lot to be desired in terms of pacing and feel.

It's definitely more of an RPG than a shooter.

Judging by how frequently CPR said it's still not a final product, makes me think they went out with this just to show anything.
Which is funny because I think this already looks pretty amazing.
Bar maybe driving a car (which seems pretty static/not fluid).

IMHO an RPG with a focus on guns better do gunplay good, since the majority of the combat sections will be reliant on your guns - I mean, Mass Effect (especially ME3, which imho has the best gunplay of the franchise) is an RPG that nonetheless also has good firearm-centric combat. CDPR are good at RPG elements, but even in the Witcher series their actual combat gameplay does leave much to be desired, and I'm hoping they can break free of that with CP2077.

ME3's kind of a shitty example of good gunplay in an RPG, because they were removing most of the RPG elements out of it after ME1. It's more cover-shooter than RPG-with-guns.
