Speculation is the 6 eps will be used to air sidestories from the game, or to air NSFW stuff that wouldn't make a TV broadcast (violence, sex etc.)

On that note, Kai, Beatrice and Lotus are announced to be in the show also. So yeah, sidestories seem possible. Although TBH, I rather it focus on the main storyline since even 18 eps is still just barely cutting it

Watched the first two eps (they opened the screening from the preview event to online for more donor categories)

Spoiler:

First ep revolves around NEET awaking Reinhard to his "destroyer" destiny and we also see the L.D.O people before they became the L.D.O. This is in 1939. At the end, the Berlin battle is shown.

Second ep is literally the opening of the game up to Valeria's meeting with Rusalka and Bey.

Visuals are decent to me. Fight scenes are stiff as mentioned before....don't expect consistently good fights. More importantly, the pacing feels ok to me but it's only two eps so far. There's no massive info dumps or anything outright confusing to follow for anime only people.

If anything is of concern, it's that I think the ep 0 may turn away first time viewers because it's classic chuu2 opening but that can't be helped really.

I just watched episode 0 and I barely understood a fucking thing. Is this normal?

All I got is that Reinhard (a historical nazi) has the power to destroy the world and has been BFF with that mage Karl in his previous lives or something. Suddenly there's a timeskip and every nazi around has superpowers. Then they board a golden flying fortress to another world? I don't know.

Did I mostly get it right?

This is Ep.0 a back story.
The real intro will be Ep.1
They choose to do Ep.0 probably because Ep.1 is too plain. So they go with the one with more shock value.

Yep, there's barely any introduction nor exposition and everyone just goes full chuuni and Karl full creepy. I do think it's impossible for new viewers to understand everything right.

I'll just disclose the extra stuffs that's happened so far from the vn.

This episode is all about the formation of LDO (Longinus Dreizehn Orden), or in another name, Knights of the Obsidian Round Table, the main villains of the story.
The scene when Reinhard appeared with the castle over a burning city is The Fall of Berlin. Red army has surrounded the Reichstag and is massacring every German they see. The LDO at this point is no longer attached to the German command and is thus acting fully on Reinhard's own accord. They join in the massacre, killing Germans and Reds alike, harvesting their souls. Afterwards, Reinhard and his castle (and three other LDO members "Albedo", "Rubedo", "Nigredo") shifts to another plane of existence (the rest stays in the corporeal realm), waiting in preparation for the next part of their plan 60 years later in Japan.

Having read the VN, yeah this episode was pretty much a mess. So in all honestly, best to wait for Episode 1 and pretend Episode 0 doesn't exist (There isn't much in this episode that is necessary to understand the next 18 anyway)
