Now it's time for the Quebecers to get with the program and conform
But it's truly sad. Though I never enjoyed the French crap we've been taught in school (It shouldn't even be considered French learning, too inefficent) I have to be amazed by their propriety and the ability to stay together and strong, look at Quebec normally such a place couldn't exist; people would conform etc.

And don't forget than the language is only one thing than keep quuebecer together, there is also the culture, religion and this mentality of colonised. I know of what I am talking, I am a ( french speaker) Quebecer myself.

And the French have been getting their panties in a twist about their (inferior ) language for a long time... Is it France that enforces a baby name law? Or Spain? I forget. |

The French are too proud of their language , that's why they are not good in english. Their "langues vivantes " courses are more like "langues mortes" ones concerning english and spanish...
But Anh Minh is right, it's not like "coup d'état" is an english word... |

English and french have exchanged and influenced each other for hundred of year. It si completely understandable than each language have taken word from each other. In restauration , we often use french word in the english menu because it sound more ''distinguished'', others time because the english equivalent don't exist.

I just think that all this globish new language is not going anywhere. There are some exchange between french and english language, like others countries do it too ...
You are Quebecer ? My parents got to work in Paris so I lived there , I found the difference between the french language and the Quebecer one quite high in the prononciation area( I talk about Quebeckers which I talked to, I do not know about their writing though) . But you have the chance to learn two language at the same level whch is not the case in France.... French who are just near England just don't know how teaching others language. This is all about " expression écrite " seriously... It was supposed to be a lively course as the " langue vivante " suggested it instead of that you just learn how to write and not how to speak .... But since grass is always greener on the other side , I think there is worst |

Seifall, yes, there is some differences betweem the ''french'' used by a french and a quebecer ( as a cook, I worked and still work with french cook), and there is difference in the prononciation, the expression and of course some word did change of meaning.
But I didn't learn two language at the same level ( at least in school), the teaching of english is always a issue here, the nationalists and ''French ( the language) Lover'' always cause problem when they fell than their precious language might be in danger.
