Does the appearance of the boy Anko likes even matter? What matters is that she likes him. Besides, I think he's cute so I don't see how her taste is questionable.

I thought the boy was really cute and sweet the way he presented her the present. Not really sure what people mean that she has "bad taste in boys". So liking a sweet boy is bad taste?

Why? If anything, it proves she looks beyond physical appearance, which is a good thing. Anko is a good girl and I respect her choice. Better this kid (who seemed very sweet) than some jackass who will break her heart.

But it's the glasses! I really dislike them. In general I just find oversized glasses to be... off-putting.

But anyway, of course I'm curious to find out more about him (if they decide to give Anko and him development).

The show will have a novel published in April by KyoAni. I can promise it's not top on my priorities to translate at the moment. Maybe in Autumn after others are done.

the only point in common with K-ON is drawing ... but history ... and the character does nothing to see ... K-ON was probably a success due to its theme of "music group cute" ...

Another very fun episode IMO. Episode 4 reminded me of the long interview ultimatemegax translated before the show aired (which I just got around reading it recently). While Tamako's denseness is probably her nature, the difference in hers and Anko's atitude toward being mochi maker's daughter is certainly being first and second born child. From her "just until recently, I.." I guess Anko had longer time being spoiled compared to her sister before her father started asking her to help out. The result is she doesn't see helping out as a responsibility she has.

On the other hand, I think she is also quite bothered by being threaded as a spoiled child all the time. Not surprising considering the pouring love everyone gives her while also doesn't have Tamako's sense of obligation. Looks like she learn to adapt just fine though.

I wonder. Is the talking bird really that much of a deal breaker for a lot of peeps? I don't think I've seen such split reactions over a character in quite some time which scares me that it might affect future sales.
