Ensaio sobre a Cegueira, aka Blindness by José Saramago.
Probably one of the best books I have ever read, if not the best. And I read a lot. It really makes you think.

I just endded ''文学少女”と慟哭の巡礼者 (パルミエーレ) the fifth volume of the ''文学少女'' serie.
I should get the sixth volume soon, so for now I will start ''キノの旅 the beautiful world'' volume 11. But I am still readding ''The general theory of employement, interest, and money'' from Keynes.

Galactic North by Alastair Reynolds.

A collection of several short stories set in the Revelation Space universe. One story is especially interesting since it's told in 2nd person view in a on-going fashion, which I have not much experience in reading.
The rest is your usual hard sci-fi with delicious background story for the rest of Alastair's books, filling out gaps and providing more info regarding technology.

I recently read "The Irregulars", by Jennet Conant. It's a detailed historical book about the life of Roald Dahl and the British espionage and propaganda-work in America during WWII.

Les chrétiens cachés du Japon (Japan's hidden christians), by Géraldine Antille: an interesting and touching study on the history, the beliefs and the scriptures of the kakure kirishitan, or hidden christian in Japan (apparently some are still holding to the faith of their ancestors).

I was reading that too. It's amazing, really. Their creativity awes me.

I'm also reading the 9th volume of Haruhi. In Japanese, mind you... and I use Baka-tsuki's translation to understand what I don't already know.

I just finished reading:

Men are all Murderers and Women are all Whores by Justin Zaza

A very funny satire of all the cliches of men and women.

Besides manga, the only books I can remember reading within the past 6 months were "How to Draw Manga" books...pitiful, isn't it?
