Was the ring also the key to the change to midsummer in the VN as well? Also i'm guessing we still arent at the diverge between the 2 midsummer endings?

In other opinions, Judging from the fact that the final episodes is titled "Holding Hands to Tomorrow" Im betting Rinne ending or anime original. since it seems to imply them staying in the present even though

Kuon is messing with more time travel stuff and could lead to more time travel, I think that might have been one of the other endings too.

It would be neat if Setsuna after solving all the problems just stayed in the present with Kuon since it looks like she's the Rinne from the future somehow.

the ring is more a key item than actually relate to the ending, the key to the ending was the fact that Setsuna remember what happened, we are very close to the diverge, Kuon issues is more troublesome to explain since it relate to the actual nature of the time loop, which i said why people misunderstand or find contradictions with the current theory

For the record, take everything Sara said with a grains of salt, she operate on self logic and a troll who believe what she is saying

Well, I hope they answer the mystery at the beginning of series, when Setsuna said that he must kill Setsuna. Also, the mystery of the book where a note stated that Setsuna must die.

Finished the show today and it's sad for me to say...but this show was bad and didn't really impress me at all.

Felt like the pacing was horrid from start to finish and did little to make me like any of the main cast. Setsuna is like a blank piece of paper without words and Rinne has no real personaltiy. It doesn't help the story constantly bounces around without knowing its real intentions. A shame really.

VN adaptations really are a hit or miss these days.

So, pretty much everyone in the previous timeline died as no time travel was involved. But hey, the right girl won this time. 11/10 for that and hopefully the delicious bluray release.

So rather than the crazy idea of time travel, we've got a world that repeats itself constantly to an insane degree of precision. Well RIP to the characters we met for the vast majority of the show then .

No surprise Setsuna was able to figure out what was going on from that photo.

I think the other Setsuna was the small child the father of the mansion was carrying, he mentioned his name.

Rinne, I am your father!

Frozen in time, not time travelling, history repeating itself, that island really is a mysterious one.

Setsuna & Rinne back together after all this time, nice weeding they had and really nice looking cruise they are going on.

This was a good series, very confusing at times but it all made sense at the end and I enjoy it all the way through.

So Setsuna and one of the Rinne's he impregnated live happily ever after, and that is it?
Everyone who dies in the "future" world isn't saved, the sickness plaguing the island isn't solved, and the world is still going to "loop"?

I kinda like the setting, but everything is just so impossible.
First of all, we have to believe that the world is somehow spawning the same people every so many many years (and for some reason, Earth is still perfectly fine).
Then we have to believe in this cold-sleep technology that does so good job of keeping people safe until the world goes through a 5-digit+ loop.
And this is apparently something that can be built in one pregnancy term, with seemingly no help from anyone.
Why? It just is. We wanted something that was a loop but not actually a loop, so we came up with this setting! Just nothing to explain it!
And I'm sure there all a lot of other weird points that comes from when an idiot tries to write these types of complicated stories, but I'm not going to bother thinking too much on it.

Second, even if you accept all of this for some reason, the story is just generally rushed anyways. There is like no build-up for the "sub-heroines" and the future story killed people off like checking off a list. Heck, we even have Rinne talking to herself in order to explain to the audience.

And after watching a cour, you get
1. Rinne telling the protagonist to go with her daughter instead of her... which is incest
2. The protagonist saying he wants to continue where they left off... in front of his daughter.
3. Frankly, the daughter kinda got NTR-ed by her mom. Oh yeah, and what are we going to do about your name?

Cool.

But yeah, I'll give it 6/10. I feel I'm being a bit generous, but if I turn off my brain and accept all of the holes in the story, I do like what they tried to do.
And you know, I like listening to Yukarin's voice.
And I do like the character designs.

Let me just say, if you want people to go
"Man, they suffered enough, so I'm good with a happy end regardless of how impossible it is", then at least make the characters suffer as much as H2O.

There are many unanswered questions
Such as :

1. This Setsuna has gone through how many world loops?
2. If all Summer Rinne were always Winter Rinne's daughter, is the loop crossing itself built into the loop?
3. Is a Setsuna always the real son of the real Ohara Kuon?
4. Why the time travellers always ended up on the beach, and where is the device?
etc etc

But all is forgiven for mom NTR

Randomly throwing in baby Setsuna... but why is he there? And why did real Kuon did not have a successor? Isn't baby Setsuna truly real Kuon's child? If that's the case, isn't he the successor? If baby Setsuna does not belong to real Kuon, then who does he belong to? Why did baby Setsuna's dad make real Rinne a maid because she saw baby Setsuna?


Also, as far as I can tell, Setsuna is the one constant in time. He keeps going into the stasis chamber, world ends, world repeats, comes out in modern times, goes into stasis, goes to the future, goes back into stasis, world ends... repeat again. He must be quite a bit older by the end and fostered quite a few Rinne babies.

In regards to baby Setsuna, I think it's because the successor has to be female, to go in line with the original mythology of the island.
