A new opening~! We're so close to the 2nd opening! Hurrah!

Or...well, I heard it was in this episode, anyway. I just hope that what I heard was right! It's about time we got one! I'm just praying that it'll be equally as awesome, or even more awesome than the first!

The only thing I can really say for this episode is that I seriously feel bad for Crona... I really have to wonder how much more his sanity can go.

Now, regarding the opening... To be quite honest, I'm a little unimpressed. It's still good and seems rather spoilerific, although without following the manga I can't be too sure. Some of the animation is very impressive, but it's no where near the level of quality of the first intro. However, I am still loving the song.

Next episode... Did... Maka really need to sing Excaliber's song? Seriously.

So the first OP is better? Now I start to feel disappointed...

I rather liked the new OP, if for no other reason than it's no longer Resonance (which I was getting pretty tired of).

The episode itself was also much better than I imagined it'd be, and like ChibiGoku, I was feeling really sorry for Crona. The crying combined with the music at the end was a very powerful/emotional way to finish the episode.

I like it. The op was pretty awesome, but it conflicts a great deal with the ED, which unlike the OP is very upbeat.

OMG my heart beat so fast...SoulxMaka FTW! With Soul scream at the end like that , giving me a chill and I wonder if the ending of anime will be different.

And NOW I really wonder if there'll be second season...

But ugh...excalibur passing at the beginning..I'm really bothered with that.

I wouldn't worry about Excaliber in the intro. It's just Bones being silly, since they have an obsession with him. Either that, or they just love to annoy us with him, since they know the fans hate him. One of the two.

Actually, according to the Biglobe online survey, and reading general reaction on 2ch (admittedly, not the best place to look for "common people'" 's perception but hey, you do what you can ^_-) Excalibur's the 4th best-liked character in the series. Most discussions on episode 31 centered around the preview, rather than the episode itself ^^'.

Oh wow. I didn't not know that. I really should look around the Japanese sites more often then. I guess I shouldn't go off on the general opinions of the english fans regarding Excaliber.

Regarding myself, I actually like him and hate him at the same time. He's hilariously annoying.

That's not the issue at all. The opening shows they're running into unresolved territory. That either means they're going to shift gears FAST, or they're going to leave everybody hanging.

That's what I thought you meant. I didn't think you disliked them following the Manga so much as, like you said, the resolution of the plot seems improbable. The ending segment with Soul screaming worries me because it looks like an anime origional ending could happen.

I feel relieved because I'm not the one who think that way

That's why I said I wonder if there's a second season. I can't imagine they can follow through the manga arc , and I suspect there'll be an original ending.

...which I hope it'll satisfy me enough.

@Katocchi : and I think it'll be a happy ending (although once again , I really hope a second season)
