They Malaysian dub of Transformers is rather well known for being bad. Also the only English language version of pretty much all post-1988 Transformers shows before Beast Wars came out.

They don't get "better" exactly, but after Masterforce they get less idiotic. Headmasters suffers from serious naming convertion problems (mixing different versions of names from the toys...it gets to you if you use to watch the American dub for years). Masterforce suffers from poorly named humans (Hosehead....seriously? I can understand an Autobot that transforms into a firetruck to be called Hosehead...but not the kid who randomly get "chosen" to be the head for an unintelligent shell.....plus there is Optimus Prime....the trucker. It sort of gives away their role a little bit if you don't use the names of the little guys instead of the names of the big robots. Victory is alright I suppose.)

I doubt it would be that easy to simply buy a tank, with ammo, on a credit card.

I do believe there was an individual in Germany who owns a de-militarised tank (i.e. cannot shoot), which happens to have a baby seat in it. "It's hard to find parking, but we always get the right of way!"
