I don't mind.. Shouji-Nana K pair isn't really good. Not right now though, Shouji found a cute girl while Nana found a band to divert her attentions too. All is good.

Can't wait for the band to play music.

The anime is going at 1 manga chapter per episode, and the movie covered halfway through volume 5. If you want to watch the movie, I think you'll have to wait until around episode 20 of the anime.

Anyone other than me really digging this series?

I'm finding the main characters three dimensional depth very refreshing and disarming. Both leads are strong but very human in different ways. Definitely a new breathe of air into the genre not familiar with tackling the complexity of life of love.

Good music doesn't hurt too much.

Maybe I'm just crazy....

There are at least two of us. You describe the show's attraction perfectly. It's the same attraction the manga has.

And we are not alone, even if not that many people are posting here (or on 2channel in Japan). In Japan, this show has viewership ratings around 4, which is about twice as high as other popular late-night anime, and it has been over 6 a couple of times. It shows at about midnight Wednesdays.

nana is really an interesting josei series. first i was just watching episode 1 and 2 thought it is intersting but didnt follow it any further but still getting all the episodes. Just recently i picked up the next episode and watched it straight up to the recent episode. Nana is one of those rare josei series like paradise kiss, but it is just so much better. Im glad itll have 50 episodes.

And i just love the music in this anime so much.

Since the first DVD is now out in Japan, has there been any verification on what the episode order will be on the DVDs? Is episode 6 going to become the new episode 1 and then shift everything down, or something?

I'd just go ahead and watch and enjoy 12

But... if you can't get enough of NANA then by all means watch 11.5

Before I saw this episode, I'm pretty sure I would have decried Shouji
as a cheating jerk but watching what actually happened it was pretty

I've been thoroughly enjoying this very odd quirky little series. The art took me a bit to get used to (especially when they jump from the "pretty drawing" style to hyper-comedic deformation). I'd have probably not lasted if they'd started off with ditzy Nana alone so in my case the flashforward of ep 1 was essential.

Its also nice hearing music that doesn't sound like its been dipped in easily forgettable pop sugar for a week.

So... you're not a crowd of one -- I just haven't had much comment or complaint so far.

Hachi's thought of being his bride, and his thought of marrying her, may be like sleepwalking. His reaction when he got the telephone call that she was coming was not as joyful as it should have been. And Yazawa-sensei is making it so they don't see each other that much. Anyway, a crying girl is hard to resist, right? Sachiko is definitely uber-kawaii -- and clearly both a capable artist and a clever person. The possibly intentionally dropped show was in the manga. Wasn't it in the movie, too? I can hardly blame her. Hachi would do something like that, if she thought of it. I did just realize that part of my equanimity is the fact that I don't really feel that positive toward Shouji. There doesn't seem to be much there. The directing for this episode was also pretty good, a lot better than usual.

Not that I think it's bad mind you, it's just one of those moments where you close your eyes and sigh. It's sad, it hurts, but it's for the better. I hope Hachi gets enough experience on the job so she can become the publicist for Blast. I hope Shouji is happy for the moment, until he gets bored and bumps into another cute girl. This episode, or the last series of episodes have made me like Hachi, more than Nana, I guess I just feel sorry for her. :/

Join Date: Dec 2005	Spoiler for episode 13: I find it interesting that I actually laughed a lot during tihs episode ("I will buy you a doghouse, that was so hilarious) yet the dramatic scenes moved me too. I can't say I blame Shouji that much, spending time with Sachiko does seem more relaxing than doing the same with Hachi as mentioned in the episode itself. I can't help but wonder what a world of pain would await Sachiko if she tried this crying seducing trick on some hyphotetical Nana O boyfriend and she saw her. __________________ 'The world we live in is always in darkness.' She was a first romantic love interest, ultimately, it wasn't going to last. It happens, sad though that might be. Honestly, he likely had no idea what he really wanted - but he hadn't spent a lot of time with Nana, they seemingly were on diverging paths anyway and I just didn't get a sense of connection between them. He probably cared about her but Sachiko's manipulations and the way she tearily exclaimed please don't make me end it would have melted any stone-hearted man (uber kawaii as indicated in an earlier post) and it was no wonder he swooped in to hold her. Who could resist such a heart rending entreaty? Shouji and Sachiko seem to be more on a converging path anyway - their school interests, job, and indeed personalities seem more suited to one another. Does it change the fact that Shouji essentially cheated on his girlfriend? Not really. He (and she) will have to live with it despite Sachiko protesting she would never come between Shouji & Nana. Well, that lasted about ten seconds. And Sachiko will have to always look over her shoulder knowing that he did this to Nana, he could always do it to her too. It doesn't change the fact that Hachi will be hurting in a major way very shortly. With her parents more or less disowning her how much more can the poor girl take before the camel's back snaps? Trax Rock beats scissors Join Date: Jul 2004	Spoiler: It's pretty obvious that Hachi is totally infatuated with Nana O, who described her perfectly before by saying that she hangs around someone like a puppy. In a way, she already moved from Shoji to Nana O in that respect. So eventhough she hasn't forgotten about Shoji, her focus seems to be on Nana O. I guess that a breakup with Shoji will be softened a bit because of that. It will be interesting to see how he will deal with this, he'll definately have a hard time with it. Can't say I'm too sad to see it happen though, ShojixHachi simply wasn't working, it was frustrating to watch.
