These OVAs were actually written by mangaka and the 1st one had some quite important bits of story about Chihiro's mother.

That is the real motor of the story, a month has passed since Rea became a zombie, but her unliving body would sooner or later deteriorate to be no different from those zombies, that is why they went to the island, to see if there is anything real scientists with real laboratories can do to keep her body and mind from deteriorating.

No, Rea went to the Island to save the Zombie kitty behind Chihiro's back. Chihiro got wind of the plan and tried to stop it, Rea wouldn't back down and intended to go despite the opposition. Chihiro's cousin told Chihiro to go with Rea because she knew how stubborn and selfish she can be when it is something she is interested in. This thing about Rea's brain still being living is a surprise in the rescue mission, but also open the doors to Pandora's box.

Something that I have always wondered about is, why hydrangeas for resurrecting the dead? Well finally I think I found the reason! Japanese Buddhists use hydrangea tea (amacha) as a substitute for the legendary ambrosia Amrita which gives you immortality (according to Indian legend it was created to enable the gods to retain immortality, though I'm not sure whether they drink it or bathe in it). So I guess this could be what inspired Mitsuru Hattori to use a hydrangea potion for a resurrection potion.

^Interesting. I've always wondered why the author chose that plant and not another.

That cover........

Maybe the publishers are thinking, "they won't judge a book by it's cover".

Chapter 34&35 have been scanlated. Darin's father intends to kill Furuya and keep Rea as a test subject. He almost succeeded. It seems like he has personal motives. Resurrecting Darin's mom, maybe?

I pretty sure he does intend to do so. I feel a little bit sad (little bit, but not a lot) for Darin, but she was naive. Sure people need love from their parents, but if a parent doesn't even acknowledge you even at work, than what kind of parent is he? The belief that a parent can change is very warming, but it depends on the parent if he wants to change. Darin's father hasn't shown any remorse for treating Darin as nothing more than a coworker in the past nor any signs of changing his behavior in the future. Its a lost cause. THere is a lot of blame going around on how Rea and Furuya got into this bad situation. On my opinion chart it goes like this:

Whose to blame for the bad situation that Rea and Furuya got themselves into which could have been avoid:

Darin: 25 percent for her naivety of her faith of her father's action
Furuya: 5 percent, should have done better to stop Rea
Rea: 70 percent, her way of believing is very naive than any other due to her upbringing and gotten many others' involved.

Furuya only went to protect Rea since he knew she wouldn't change her mind of going and with the influnce of her father, she would have done it without Furuya knowing. Rea and Darin deserves the most blame for the situation, Furuya doesn't deserve to be in this situation.

Woah I stopped reading this for a while and just read the last two chapters. Has this turned into a regular horror manga now?

Time for Furuya to use that zombie know-how and kick ass.

Prediction: ZoMa will be demolished by their own creations. (Thanks to Furuya letting some zombies in...)

Are you telling me Darin's father isn't really a good person!? That he's obsessed with his researched to the point of murdering others to achieve his goals? Oh my, I never saw something like that coming.

I hate to repeat myself over and over again but...no...wait, I actually don't in this case BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH RETARDS AND DESERVE TO BE IN THIS CRAPPY SITUATION.

I hope you mean Darin and Rea, I don't see how Furuya is at fault for going to the faculty to protect Rea from her nativity.
