The point here is that you are selling DLC to people who already own the game. The fact that people aren't buying brand new copies is irrelevant

The term "dead" doesn't refer to new copies of the game being bought, though. I'm refering to my impression of the very small active player base. If you don't play the game anymore, why would you buy new DLC for it? I guess some people may view this as an incentive to start playing again, but those have got to be an exception.
