The fake illness had real symptoms. Araragi transfered over himself half of the symptoms. It all comes down to the fact there is an urban legend in Japan that says that you can cure a cold by infecting another person. Basically you could say Araragi hypnotized himself without knowing.

Apparently Kaiki does not believe in the supernatural, but he is a liar so he can't be trusted. It is certain he knows the knack of occultism.

A pretty minor question, but I hope somebody knows. Why does Hitagi's school uniform have a necktie while Tsubasa's and Suruga's has a bow? Does the school give them choices for accessories or something?

In the novel it was said that yellow was the color of the second year, but I don't know if it was mentioned the difference between a necktie and a bow. Maybe it was left to the student's choice.

Kaiki didn't need to. He excels at seeing the hidden side of things. By getting to know Araragi and Karen he could infer the third sibling. That's how the novel explained it.

No, I mean how did he learn about what she was? Kagenui said, "Kaiki told us about her." So that means he knew what she was and sent Kagenui after her, right? How did he know she wasn't a normal human if they never met?

Edit: Ohh, just read your post in the comparison thread. So that's really the only explanation they give? Wow. Kaiki is magic.

Eh why should that really matter? I am an asexual myself. Shouldn't stop you from enjoying the beauties for what they are imo.

I have a suggestion to help you enjoy "fanservice" more. Try to look at those scenes from the pov of the involved characters themselves. Imagine how and why exactly the girls would do it. Imagine how and what exactly appears to the observer, usually the MC. Imagine their reactions to it. Etc. I don't know if you are capable of doing it (and this is almost a philosophical thing) but you should be able to enjoy it for what it is from the perspective of who is involved.
