It is more logical, but that doesn't make it less bs considering that Gotland is the first ship of her country (and very likely also the last) to be added into the game, while Maestrale is the 5th.

She isn't even a particularly good DD either, especially if you consider that one is very likely to already have better DDs by the time they get her. (That includes her OASW capabilities)

One foreing DD as a reward is still a better reward than getting a Yuugumo-class or a Kaiboukan.

BTW, is it me or there was less Yuugumo-class DD drop than previous event?

It is hardly the first time a "not useful" kanmusu is introduced as a map reward. Midway event was way worse than that. Also, to be frank, Gotland isn't particularly great by any means either, gimmick included. The fact she is from a country that didn't have any representative shouldn't give her any special treatment.

Lets be honest here, lots of ppl wouldnt be farming Maestrale if it was Gotland the reward. After all, they pulled the same thing on Graf Zeppelin, Jervis and Roma.

Pretty much, and I'd argue Jervis, Roma and Tashkent are way more impactful than Gotland and they weren't any easier in term of farm.

Usually I wouldn't say than a ship is easier to farm athan another as luck play a lot on that. On my part getting Tashkent has been a nighmare (long, expensive and the unwanted drop, save some few, were not that impresssice) while farming E5-N endded up oddly both easy and giving great result.


As a general rule, pure CL aren't impacting the game as much as other class, being less sortied. Gotland might have the same impact than Ooyodo but that might change with her already announced second remodeling.

I'm not basing on luck but rather the map requirement to farm them. Gotland is "easy" considering E5-P1 is pretty harmless even in 甲 while the other were much more tedious.

On normal its apparently more rewarding to farm her on E4, or so the wiki statistics say.
At least going by the submissions its 1.7 for E5 Z2 on medium while 3.2 on Node U in E4.
I've been thinking of switching maps lately, but I can barely sortie and repair this fleet, 14K fuel isn't enough for LBAS + a CTF. + Boss support.

I've been having shit luck this event too though. Before I didn't even know Akashi can fail 5 to 6 star upgrades.

The really annoying thing isn't even not getting Gotland though, its some shit drops that honestly don't belong on an S ranked boss node. (I'm talking to you, Fubuki)

I switched from E4H to E5N farming pretty fast, getting to the boss node was way easier ( at least with the 2BB 2CVL 1CA 1CA/ 1CL 1CA 1CVL 3DD composition) even if combined fleet cost more than single one. The only good reason I could see to farm on E4 insted of E5 would be if one aim for Italian shipgirl.

E4 has 3.2% Drop rate while being cheaper per run.
As for the STF: Mine never really made it through. Most times it failed at either the sub princess or the very next node, so I eventually changed my fleet to a CTF format.

Usually, when we talk about Gotland farming in E5 its for Part 1 and Part 3, where CTF is best, in part 3. Part 1 boss is very much a pushover.

Tried to farm E5 now; Node J were pretty much all crappy drops while Z2 had 2 Hiryuus in sequence (at least I can farm the planes). That being said I'm officially out of fuel now and can't even repair or refuel my ships.
I just wonder whether I'd get Gotland if I tried Z2 a few more times...
