Might be a good idea to create a separate thread for any sort of resources that are not tutorial; assuming the mods don't mind an extra sticky.
(also who are you asking for permission? if it me, you don't need my permission)

What I do is you go to File->Scripts->Load Files into Stack. A window will appear and two options one says files and another folder. Both are basically the same really, just chose either one and find were VD saved the captured screenshots. After that's done wait a few seconds for it to load in PS and click the Ok button. The next step takes time depending on how many frames were captured. After it is loaded you will see all the layers and in the animation window just 1 frame. Go to the little arrow and the lines button and click Make Frames From Layers. TIP when you do this the frames will be in reverse order, so go back to that button and select reverse frames. That's basically it! ^^

I was rather thinking about all sorts of stuff. Pretty much everything! Renders, C4D, Fractals, Fonts and Stocks...lots and lots of stocks! That should make the designer section of AnimeSuki a lot more active, don't you think? ^^
We might even attract more people into designing, which is kinda my purpose for the whole idea

Not *quite* related, but thought this is the best place to ask.
I've heard it said that PS is best when it comes to 'mass producing' art (such as character sprites, etc). What does that mean? Which tools/functions could they be refering to not present in more dedicated drawing platforms such as Painter?

While I've never heard that before, my first thought is customization and templates. GIMP probably has the same functionality, but PS is still very customizable, such as saving brushes presets, certain settings, fonts, etc, etc.
You also have Macros which makes things real easy if you have 100 pics to resize or similar. I've used it in the past myself and it's very valuable to have when you just have to push a button or two to make ten things at once happen. You can, I think, create a whole signature by just pressing two buttons if you have recorded the process as a macro beforehand.

GenjiChan, do you mind if you share how you cut characters out using gimp? I tried it before using smart scissors (or whatever it's called, the one which sticks to edges) but it cuts out too much or too little. In the end, I have to select more than I need and erase pixel by pixel which would just lead to me just using photoshop instead since the eraser there is more precise to me.
Do you just select a little more than the character and blur to make the background less noticable?

While I am no GIMP user, the Path Tool seem eerily similar to the Pen Tool in PS http://www.wikihow.com/Extract-an-Image-in-GIMP
Even the procedure is almost exactly the same. Perhaps this might help you.

@NorthernFallout The pen tool seems really clunky to me although I completely understand the strengths of it. If I want to select a character I would either use quick select and then go into quick mask mode to refine it or erase the background with a vector mask and the background eraser. Nevertheless, thanks for trying to help.
