Kenran Butoh Sai - The Mars Daybreak

As expected from Studio Bones, looks really good from the first ep although things underwater tended to look fuzzy. The Reaper mech looks kind of like Rahxephon.

I've only watched it on TV, so I had no translation, but here's my synopsis:

Person 1: "Quick, let's get on this Mech fad!"
Person 2: "I know, let's do Mechs under water!"
Person 1: "Yeah!"

add to that, ugly characters, and no cuteness aside from one little girl who is probably not a main character, and that's the last episode you'll see this shoujo lover watch.

Now, if you like Mech stuff and don't require cute, this show may be just for you!

The first episode was alright, I'll download the second episode in hopes that it may get better. And those Reaper mechs do look alot like the Rahxephon.

I thought ep1 was okay... I'll pick up ep2 next thursday for final determination tho...

I thought it was "Butousai" not "Butohsai"... but to each his own I guess...
(I just prefer the "generic" japanese way)

It's Studio BONES. I feel it cannot go wrong. I mean, look at their past works -- RahXephon, Wolf's Rain, Scrapped Princess, and Fullmetal Alchemist -- all of them are somewhere among my favorites!! I'm so glad they're releasing something new, even if it is mecha (which I'm not a big fan of, though I loved RahXephon)... btw, anyone know what the deal is with their Hiou anime? The one with the puppets? No one's ever licensed and/or subbed it... is it just not good?

Anyway, I'm downloading episode 1 of this right now. I can't wait!!

And Angelic Layer. I love pretty much EVERYTHING they've done. I usually dislike mecha shows, but because Bones is doing this, I'm going to give it a chance. (The only mecha I've liked are RahXephon, Eva, Orguss 02, Giant Robo, and Gainer.)

From screenshots, it reminds me of Overman King Gainer in that its not your regular mecha. That, and the coloring scheme and character design seem similar. (Sidenote: Somebody license or fansub Gainer already!!!!)

I saw the first episode. It's okay. As far as the first episode goes, it's looks like a dry plot, almost too predictable. My guess of the entire plot below.

I actually found this one interesting. It has promise despite it being mecha... (we all know how much of that there already is out there)

The anime was kinda like promo for the upcoming PS2 game. The release date is sometimes during 2K4.
Or maybe it's the other way around?
