As for the second: Even without experience of the outside world or understanding of physical laws, children can take it for granted because they trust in the wisdom of their authorities, and can later confirm these things. Because we know that leaving home would be pointless, and magic doesn't exist, we don't do it. But without that information, we would be compelled to test these limits constantly. That, I think, is humane and it's disturbing how none of the MCs show any of it. It'd also be really good for the show if they did, because that kinda thing would be interesting to viewers in the fantasy genre.

2. They refused charity because of Manato's death. It's the same reason why Haruhiro exploded when the priest offered to pay for Manato's grave. There are things you don't do and principles you don't break even when forced into a desperate situation, like how you don't off your grandmother just so you can inherit her will and support your starving family. 3. They started as a complete blank, except for that strange knowing that Grimgar is not their world. Obviously they will grow curious about the world about them, but up until now they never really had time to let their curosity wander. At the beginning they were facing potential starvation by the face and just when things started to improve Manato passed away. As of this Episode they finally avenged him so we can expect this issue to have the breather to be brought up - assuming they don't prioritize avenging I don't remember her name priest's party now. Haruhiro's gang was never the curious type and they may subconsciously want to avoid thinking about it and just focus on the present.

I wouldn't be too frustrated. They have limited memories. It's not like they remember where they came from. Besides, they need money and a reliable base to explore and research what happened to them. They also need free time to think. They have been going from one problem to another since they got there. They also need to know the rules of the land. That takes time. The population as a whole may have decided not to ask too many questions about their origins.

I finally watched the last episode and it was great.
Mary getting shot in the back was quite a surprise, but I wasn't too worried about her life. It just didn't feel "right" to kill her off like that. They were building her up into a great character --- it would have been too weird to kill her. MaryXHal ship is being built as we speak. YumeXHaru is ahead, but Mary ship will have the momentum. (approximation of what was done) "Come at me! --- why aren't you coming?" "Dude, you're too obvious" >_> |

From tonight's event.
Mikako-shi is truly dreamy. Taking care of the VAs in the real world and the characters in the anime 乙乙. Banana for scale? [source] Next one will be after fortnight. Dekai? Sonna Banana? Eroko-shi . Goblin sempai is as civilized as ever. It makes me want to root for them. So Mikako-shi likes Ranta? I'm going to root for RantaxYume then (=゚ω゚)ノ From Nani Mo Nai Radio this week

Great, relaxing episode after last week fight. That scene with Mery at beginning just won me over (boards ship Mery x Haru)... Leaving that aside, I missed something or they skipped Daybrakers? And also, 8eps for 1st Volume, and with this speed there's no way they would end 2nd one in this series. So let's hope it's split cour.

The ending confirms it...even the goblins love Yume .
But not a bad break episode. Everyone taking some time to unwind after all they've been through. Quite the leap though going from grinding goblins to heading to that mine. Even if they are cautious to avoid the big boss, that doesn't mean this will be easy. While the group they fought was more powerful than the normal goblins, they were all still at least familiar. This is going into a completely new terrain and enemy type. Hopefully they are careful. I think the thing with Mary is that she really does kind of demand more attention. She's still working through a lot of grief and guilt. While she did tip to the group, Mary still made the point that she needs help to get through it. On the other hand....does Yume have any real drama or issues? Already got through the biggest issue which came right after Manato's death and the kind of isolation within the group. To the mines! Avoid any Balrogs and just take it easy I say.

Episode 9
So for most of this episode, nothing happened at all. They just spent time doing whatever, spending their day off. But this didn't come off as boring. Felt kinda nice. Much needed rest after they finally avenged the death of Manato. The goblin party they killed were from the next city and they're comrade gobs have created quite a stir there. But that's none of these kids' business – they've got nothing to do with Damuro so who cares what the goblins are doing there. And now killing goblins day after day is getting a bit boring so they're going to enter the Cyrene Mines. And that mine happens to be the place where Mary lost her party members. And it is gonna be tough for her to enter that place given the not so pleasant memories attached to that place. But she'll try to overcome that hurdle. Lol learning new skills is quite a tough job for Haruhiro. That training session was amusing. Judging by the name of the next episode, it's sure doesn't look like this party will emerge unscathed from this mine. |

whoa.... when I heard that they are going to have a day-off, I have a very slight hope that it would become Haru-Mary date.... but they actually did it!
I thought the group already know about that Kobold-infested mine but it seems like they don't know yet since they talked about it easily in front of Mary It's good that Haru is quite sharp in this kind of situation I don't like the title of next episode ("I'm not fit to be a leader") I don't want Haru to be emo again |

Nothing happening in Aria = Wow nice scenery!
Nothing happening in Non Non Biyori = Nice nostalgia of the country side! Nothing happening in Mushishi = You can sense the metaphor in the scenery! Nothing happening in Grimmgal = Boring waste of time. That's how people see the pacing of Grimmgal compared to other shows. |

I agree, along with all of the insert songs it's making me just keep the anime as background noise and not even pay attention to it, it truly feels like the studio is trying to force a ship tobait shippers. I mean compared to Haruhiros interactions with the others (especially the other two girls) it feels half-baked and it doesn't flow as well.

I would have thought Haru would have had the consideration to not bring up the Cyrene Mines like that. Maybe start with asking Mary for suggestions, since she's more experienced. (And her issues with the mines is pretty predictable.)

The problem is even more pronounced in Phantom World. It's like people can't appreciate a show for what it is anymore. |
