So, I lurk most of the time... but as of late I've not done much else but lurk over on the Frozen Teardrop thread hoping for more images of suits and the amazing art... as well as updates for the GotD manga... But in my time when I wasn't lurking there... I spent it writing "good, crappy fan fiction" good in my view plot wise... and crappy because I know my grammar sucks, and my editor after my first fic began editing for me... though I really hadn't started editing till the third fic...

But enough of that, some of you may have seen my fics floating around in the different Gundam crossover sections. So after reading through the thread here I decided to link mine... fair warning given a few chapters get a tad on the upper end of "violent" and or "graphic"... then again I am a follower of "kill'em all" Tomino's works...

To give an outline of them, this is my interpretation of a "What if..." scenario and the "What if" is that the Gundam Meta as a whole wasn't different universes, or spread out over an expansive timeline... When completed this "little" series will be a total of 8 fic's long encompassing the A.C., C.E., A.D., A.W., and U.C. in a massive military crossover.

So here they are in order if you'd like to go read them. I'm currently in the process of writing the 5th fic in the series.

Thread looks pretty dead, but incase someone meanders over here.

I stumbled accross a few still-active Gundam 00 fans, and have a collab fan proj going on. We have 2 ppl on bilingual fic (one is me) and at least one solidly committed to art with a second possible. Someone to make OP/ED sequences has not been a filled position yet. Also if you'd like to contribute, say, omake manga or create another addon, come join us.

We will be on multiple sites and share accounts specific to the proj. Most have been somewhat set up already.

I'm doing a bit of a brainstorming for a Build Fighters story (warning, it's fairly OC-centric). Only have a bit of it written, so I figured I'd just throw it up and see the response.

I see my rival's gunpla before me, and engage.

Maybe rival is too pretentious a word. I know that the gap between us is too wide, not just in terms of gunpla (hero suit vs grunt, this was never going to end well), but in skill. But so long as Gunpla Battle has that human element, there's always a chance. A Hail Mary. What is a Hail Mary anyway? Sounds like some kinda weapon maybe? Oh, shit, she's coming at me.

I shove my throttle open, and my gunpla shoots forward. The basic ECOAS Jegan's a decent gunpa, performance wise, but all the extra shit I've loaded it with aren't helping that. The three-cell missile launchers on the shoulder, the shield on my left hand, beam rifle on my right, a bazooka clipped to my back (and trying to find somewhere to mount it where it wouldn't get melted by thruster wash was a pain, let me tell you)... well, at least I can't say I'm lacking weapons.

Won't be enough to deal with her, but it's about the dude who makes the effort, or something like that.

I know her. She'll try and finish this in one pass. So would I. So if that's what she wants to do, I'll break. Too early and she'll drop on my six. Too late and she'll have me dead to rights. Gotta time it just right. Wait for it...

...wait for it... wait...NOW!

I jerk my arm rakers: my Stark ECOAS kicks its leg out and hits the verniers on the left leg armor, boosting right. I'm already dumping my grenade rack right in her path, and follow up with a pair of my shield missiles for good measure. C'mon, c'mon, yes, explosio- oh for fuck's sake.

Her purple Banshee emerges from the fireball, unscathed. Her shield's angled ahead of her - clever girl. Deflection and increased relative thickness adding to the strength of that shield. The purple paint is slightly darkened from the heat, but otherwise the shield is fine.

I can understand exactly how Marida must've felt when Riddhe was no-selling her beam gatling.

Still. I've still got some more tricks.

We've separated, we aren't in the merge anymore, I have distance. She's still coming at me, but she's only got her beam magnum, four beam gatlings, and her beam vulcans. The shields on her back are fixed mounts. She doesn't have any homing or off-bore weapons, so that gives me options. I have a solid lock-on tone, and I hit my trigger. My missile launchers spit their payloads as my Stark ECOAS dances: BANG-BANG-BANG, pause, reorient, come to a new heading, good tone, BANG-BANG-BANG. Give her something to worry about, as I shove my throttle open and go "up" relative to her.

The sensor window tells me the story - my missiles all intercepted, shot down. Beam gatlings make great point defense, afterall. But she's looking straight, and I'm coming at her from above - like THIS!

I hit the trigger and grit my teeth, and my beam rifle spits out green fire at my rival. I didn't use the targeting system, so there's a chance her sensors won't pick me up, I'm just shooting and aiming by sight- oh fuck me!

Her back shield detaches itself and intercepts my beam rifle. Green fire splashes harmlessly against it's surface.

"You have GOT to be kidding me!" It takes me a moment to realise that I've just yelled that.

Across from me, she just laughs. "A girl has to have her secrets!" I can't help but smile a little, hearing her voice and that laugh. I could listen to both all day-

The RWR blares at me and I throw myself into a descending corkscrew, before juking and jinking madly, dumping my spent launchers behind me, wincing as they're shredded by a hail of fire. I spin around and fire a shot off with my beam rifle, shield ready to absorb her gatlings' fir- shitshitshit that's a fucking Beam Magnum!

The blast takes off my shield and my left arm. Everything below the shoulder is gone. My empty grenade rack has been burned away, and there's charring on my left leg. Not close enough to kill me, but still close enough to hurt.

Sasuga my rival. (Oh god, the weaboo is strong with me. Can't be helped.)

Still, at least I'm mobile. I stay on the move, boosting in all directions. Unlike her Banshee's dark purple with green trim, my Stark ECOAS has white and black geometric shapes painted over its dark brown. Dazzle camoflage has been in use since World War 2 - it's not meant to hide the unit, it's to break up the outline and make it harder for the human eye to track it-

Yeah, I think her second follow up Beam Magnum shot that I just dodged means dazzle isn't as effective as I'd hoped. Celaka ikan masin. Well, I'm still in the fight. I can still do this. There's still hope. And with anime rules, hot blooded yelling at this point can't hurt.

"Take this, Juli!" I yell. "All my anger, my sorrow, my love-"

"Don't forget all your lust, JD!!"

"Shining! BEAMU! RAIFURU!"

She's laughing at me, but not so hard that she can't dodge my shots (and make it look so easy in the process, damnit!). Damnit, anime rules, you've let me down. "I thought you were going to give me a run for my money?" she says. "I hope this lack in you doesn't extend to all aspects of life... like your bed, maybe?"

"You're the one who keeps messing it up," I fire back, but I'm grinning. I can feel a dopey stupid smile on my face. I sigh, shrug, and with a laugh of my own throw myself back into the battle.

I'm glad we got into Gunpla Battle. It's fun, we can enjoy ourselves, and there's a certain satisfaction in building a gunpla, making it the best it can be, and proving it and one's self.

But for both of us, Gunpla Battle is something a little more special. It's somewhere we can be completely honest with each other. There's an honesty in each shot, in each strike of our beam saber - an honesty we can't convey in the real world. Inside this arena, we can drop our barriers and just be us.

Or I'm just talking out of my ass here.

The end was never in question. Honestly, I'm surprised I managed to last as long as I did. Maybe I'm getting better. But I had fun, which is the important thing. Juli's smiling happily and carefree. She's got plenty to be proud of; Clover's a well-built gunpla, and it's probably her best gunpla yet. The fact that she got most of it done without my involvement speaks to her skill. She'll probably make the national qualifiers this yea-

She jumps into my arms and kisses me; of course, we hit the floor. She's laughing and pecking me over and over and gushing happily. Well, at least in this instance, I can counterattack. Yep, the shut up kiss actually works - of course, it does help when you're using it on your rival-slash-girlfriend, who was already kissing you to start with. No, this is not a usual post-match thing, she's just really excited about her gunpla. Look, I don't really care, I'm not complaining. A pretty girl - my girlfriend - is kissing me enthusiastically, I'm not going to say no to that.

We pack up our gunpla and pop back into the gunpla store. The manager smirks knowingly at us; we've been coming here for years now, so we're all kind of friends. We chat a bit, discuss some ideas, and then we say our goodbyes, and I walk Juli home.

The train's packed, but that just gives us an excuse to hold each other, and I sneak a peck on her cheek, just because. But as the train reaches our stop, we sigh, and reluctantly part. From both of us hanging on each others arms, we switch to holding hands. As we walk through the neighbourhood, I feel my steps getting heavier and heavier. We slowly drift apart, bit by bit, until we're almost strangers, as we reach the gate.

I hold her bags while she fiddles with the key and opens the gate, and laughs as Dog runs up to greet us, barking happily. She locks the gate behind us, and I carry our stuff as she carries dog to the house.

"Mum! We're home!" she calls, taking of her shoes daintily like a proper young lady should. (I kick my shoes off into their corner - I've gotten very good at that.)

"In the kitchen, Juli. How was class? Is JD with you?"

"Yeah, I'm here mum, just carrying stuff," I say, and walk upstairs; Juli makes some comment about how she had college tutorials or some bullshit like that. I make a brief stop in Juli's room to drop her bags, roll my eyes again at how girls need so much space and use so much stuff, and step into my room, next to hers, which is smaller and a lot more spartan, but I like it.

I remove my Stark ECOAS from the case and set it on my desk, and begin the process of making repairs, when I hear a knock on a door - and without waiting for a reply, my sister opens the connecting door to our shared bathroom, poking her head in.

"I'm going to take a shower now, JD. Join me?"

"Hmmm... I dunno, Juli. I gotta fix my Stark ECOAS," I say. Well I was trying to play hard to get, but I can feel myself smiling. Juli smirks and tosses something at me - I step forward and catch it, it's her shirt. Her back facing me, she turns to look me over her shoulder, giving me a come-hither look.

"Come on, big brother."

I may be a nerd, but I'm not so much of a nerd that I'll put gunpla over a shower with the girl who's my rival, my girlfriend, my younger sister.

But how we got here... well, that's a story that surprises myself as well, sometime. But right now, I've got more important things to worry about.

The general concept came up one morning while I was assembling my Banshee Norn - I looked at my Stark Jegan, my ECOAS Jegan and my Banshee and went "Banshee + FA Unicorn shields vs Stark ECOAS Jegan, do iiiiiiiiiiit", and kitbashed my kits to make the Stark ECOAS. Then somehow I kinda had the brainwave of a subplot of the narrator and his rival be dating, and then I decided I wanted to write from the perspective of a bro-tier grunt, and then I went "Wait, what if Gunpla Battle is only where Stark ECOAS and Banshee can be honest with how they truly love each other and their love is a forbidden love because siblings? Okay that's a great idea let's roll with that!"

...I blame my own personal kinks and all the various manga of this sort that I've read.
